I highly recommend the law office of Chanfrau & Chanfrau. They represented me during one of the hardest times of my life. No parent expects to bury a child and nothing can prepare a mother for a loss of that magnitude. Over the span of three years the people in this firm became not only my lawyers, but my friends. It was such a horrible sad time for me and my children and they never lost sight of that. At no time did I feel like I was just another case. I always felt that they understood the devastation that my family had suffered. They are honest; they always told me the truth but also offered me reassurance when I became overwhelmed with it all. They explained everything to me so I understood what was going on and could make informed decisions. I truly trusted Mr. Chanfrau and his firm and I do not trust easily. I have never liked attorneys. My past experience with them was that they charged you for everything, sounded good at the beginning, and then you never got past the receptionist. Mr. Chanfrau and his firm changed all that. Everyone in his firm participated in my case. Phone calls were answered promptly and emails answered immediately. They met with me in my home and worked around the schedule of a busy, single working mother. I never once in three years had to call or email about anything more than once. They were amazing. While my loss was not theirs, they certainly treated me as though they understood how I felt and how my other children felt. I knew that whatever decisions they were making were in my best interest. I wish things had been different and I had not needed them at all, but the unthinkable happened and I feel blessed that I was directed to Mr. Chanfrau. I would not have wanted to go through the legal process with anyone but him and his firm.

I am proud I was able to be a client of Bill Chanfrau, Sr. I was involved in an automobile accident case and he was able to negotiate an ample award. He is honest, hard-working, an excellent communicator, and negotiator. His office staff is superb. I cannot provide enough accolades.

In August of 2011, my husband and I were involved in an automobile accident when we were rear ended by a large truck on one of the most heavily traveled highways in our area. Attorney William Chanfrau and his office staff were completely committed to my case from the day I first met in their office. The day of my deposition , with my Attorney at my side, was the turning point in getting this case settled with me being compensated for my injuries which included a major heart attack and the placement of 2 stents in my heart. My husband was ill at the time of the accident and his condition worsened quickly from that day forward. He passed away on October 17, 2013. The very well known large corporation whose name appeared on this truck had this case drag on almost 3 years, but my Attorney worked diligently and the case was settled with me getting the settlement amount I felt I deserved. I would certainly seek help from Attorney William Chanfrau in the future if needed

Paid a small fee for a hour consult. he started digging in and started making some calls on my behalf. I got my moneys worth for sure because we spent 2.5 hours just making timelines and reviewing the case in that order. By the next morning he typed up a paper on my behalf without my files or notes and faxed it. Within 2 hours he had my issue resolved and i got exactly what i asked for. He is super smart and cunning at the same time. Great guy he actually cares he will have back to back appt. but he still squeezes u in if u need his expertise on the fly to meet that timeline.

Dave is a meak, small, mild mannered, sensitive, concerned and highly sympathitic, good guy to those that he decides to defend.. He also can be and is very strict, hard, rough and caringless to those he opposes. He is far beyond entirerly dedicated to defending the citizens and is entierly dedicated to prosecuting the guilty. Meaning that he is only entirerly dedicated to LAW. However, make no mistake about it HE ONLY WISHES TO TAKE CASES THAT HE HIMSELF DECIDES THAT HE WILL OR WILL NOT WANT TO TAKE. He lives continuesly under a gavel and is always, always, always, in court (exspecially spiritually) even in many cases ( that go on for a lifetime and sometomes longer) that are not his and that he wishes that they never would summons him too. He never seems to complain too much about theses summoning however and is not a liar. Dave is dedicated and so entirerly over worked (expecially spirtitually) with the courts and with peoples lives that that he must be an angle ( weather he's proven that in court before or not, well ). However unfortunely he's hardly ever paid as much as a human being for any or all of his never ending spiritual and mortal law work. This sometimes plays good to an authoritive power (the court) unto a jury controlled by female attorneys and judges because there are so many female attorneys and judges that are involved in the court system theses days. During this review they ask you how many lawyers have you worked with in the past to which the answer was 10 or more and let me tell you one thing thats for real and thats true. Out of them 10 attorneys not one of them ever did anything whatsoever for anybody whatsoever, were not truthfull, were never concerned with any thing whatsoever that had to do with the public, the people,The Constitution or The LAW or any thing else what so ever except their own self esteam, how good they could get in with or how good they were in with the judges and how much money they could steal from The Government or the people that they aleadgedlly defended. Daves been an attorney for quite awhile and I'm not sure if he's retired completelly yet or not. However, Good Luck Dave.

Was referred by a close friend who told me that Vasilaros Wagner was the best, he mentioned that though the process may take a while, they take care of everything and if you should get a settlement, it will come when it is needed. It went just as described, there were some people assigned to my case that exceeded my expectations with expertise and compassion, they really took the time to speak with and explain the situation. I would recommend Vasilaros Wagner to any of my friends.

I have had issues with the craziest neighbor in the world for over a decade and Robert Robins has represented me and guided me through several issues that have raised from living next to a complete nutjob. Robert is very "to the point" and he does not allow you to bring emotions to court proceedings. He is someone you want on your side in any legal matter and definitely someone you DONT want representing whomever you are up against. I highly recommend Robert Robins and have sent him several clients of whom have thanked me for referring him. If you like a straightforward guy with a "matter of fact" perspective, then make sure you give Robert a call.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Daytona Beach, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
