For the matter for which I received a consultation, I felt that Peter had tremendous personal knowledge and experience. But what also impressed me was the sense of integrity and honesty that I got when working with members of the Ticktin Law Group.

Peter Ticktin and his stellar Ticktin team of legal eagles saved my 20-year Palm Beach home (homestead) from foreclosure in TWO separate foreclosure court proceedings, from 2009-2017! AND they are successfully pursuing an award of fees against bank giant Bank of America. Yes, they beat BofA on my behalf, regarding my mortgage foreclosure case. They are miracles workers, to say the least. I am a LONGTERM client! I know Peter Ticktin to be excellent, brilliant and shrewd attorney of honor, integrity and character. He can hold his own, and in fact prevail, against any opposition counsel or law firm, including “Big Gun” names and “white-shoe” firms. Unlike some attorneys, Peter Ticktin and his firm do NOT get sandbagged in any courtroom situation. They are always thinking clear and cleverly, and ahead of the curve, outsmarting their adversaries. Am pleased to provide the highest recommendation. He is a fighter for his clients, both with legal research/strategy and courtroom litigation, as are his associate attorneys. Many “AV-rated” are scholarly with much book knowledge but do not fight hard for their clients. The best lawyers have a bit of grit and street-fighter instincts in them. In the worst of times and darkest of days, the Ticktin law firm were there for me and never failed to rise to the occasion. Unlike some lawyers, Ticktin lawyers do NOT miss court deadlines, they do NOT miss court dates. People who have foreclosure looming, or other legal difficulties, are often emotional, difficult and temperament…overly involved in their own cases 24/7…i.e. people who are not the easiest to work with…but Peter Ticktin is stellar and standup and doesn’t miss a beat. He is able to think rings around many other lawyers and treats his clients like family. As an experienced businessman, as well as a well-seasoned attorney who has lived life, he is able to personally relate to and firsthand understand the curveballs, and the up-down journey of life, that his clients face. Likewise, any disagreement rolls off him, whereas he keeps going, keeps fighting for his clients’ best interests, even clients who can sometimes be their own worst enemy in trying to interfere with how their case is proceeding. Without Ticktin, I would NOT have been able to stave off 9 years of foreclosure, survive it, and have a happy ending! I have litigation experience with some of the best of the best attorneys in the country, including the late Johnnie Cochran, and also experience with some of the worst attorneys ever imagined. Peter Ticktin is top-tier.

We were rear-ended while at a traffic light while on vacation in fl. The first attorney from Ticktin Law office was on drugs and was terminated 2 years into my case. Ticktin took over and I brought him all my medical records, which he didn't look at. When I went for a deposition a few years later, he told me the opposing attorney was going for my house and I should settle. he frightened me and I settled. When I picked up my medical records from his house I realized he never looked at them and didn't know we were hit while standing still. I hate that man.

Please look else where for defense! They lost our case… hardly informed us of the situation. We have reported them to the Bar association in hopes they won't do harm to any others seeking help in their defense. They lie to their Clients, misinform them and pass around the cases in hopes their clients get too exhausted to fight. We are taking our complaints straight to the Bar and PLease PLease Please do not use this law group!!!!!

I hired Jonathan Sabghir to review and help Close on a 5 year lease with {2} 5 year options While there was not a mention about having a Crane on my Property helping to Roof the Hotel adjoining my property. The Roofing Company paid me for the access in order that the Roofing Material could be loaded on the Roof. The Landlord passed by the property and saw that there was Crane on the property and he felt that there was a Liability Issue if the Crane or any of the Employees damaged the Building or did harm to any of the individuals. Jonathan had the Roofing Company to Put up a Bond and get a $5 million Dollar Binder naming our Corporation and The Owner of the property as additionally insured.. he had the Roofing Company make up a Huge Company Sign on top of the Crane so it would give My Company additional exposure. Everyone was happy! This was my first of a long standing relationship with Jonathan Sabghir Esq..

I just finished working with Chris and cannot thank him enough for handling my case with an auto insurance company. He became involved because I had spent five months making no progress and beginning to believe nothing positive was in sight. However, once Chris consulted with me, I felt much more confident and he agreed to take my case and through his commitment and expertise he was able to make sure I received an extremely satisfactory settlement. Thank you so much for your dedication to your clients and their well being.

Mr Varca always has the clients interest as his first priority and his ability to drive to settlements in shorter than expected time frames is a tremendous benefit when considering overall legal expenses. I have found him to have excellent research skills and his ability to apply proper law to the case at hand is paramount in forming his legal opinions and justifying the position of arguments.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Deerfield Beach, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
