There aren’t sufficient words to describe how wonderful Leanna Smith is. I was in an awful situation facing an alleged DV charge and positively terrified. I’d interviewed several attorneys, but am so glad I hired Leanna. Although she was out of town when I first called her, she called me back the same day to discuss my case, and also called me the very day she returned home to get the ball rolling. She explained how the system works, gave me a timeline and told me what to expect moving forward. Within about 5-6 weeks, she had my case dropped. She has decades of experience and it shows. I am not from the florida area. I was visitng for family events, And subsequently got pulled over by the volusia county sheriffs office by deputy Deluccia who was less than professional made some false accusations. I took the ride to the county ,and upon release I immediately set out for legal representation . A year ago, my brother was a client of this firm. He was wrongly accused of a crime. The firm helped to get his charges dropped and record expunged. A few weeks ago we discovered that my brother’s mugshot was up on a public website. We requested that they have the photo removed. They would not remove it. In less than 12 hours, she contacted the owner of the site and the photo and page was deleted. This brought us great relief and brought my brother peace of mind. If I could give a 20-star rating to Leanna Smith I would. Here is why I say that My son was looking at a felony charge that carried up to twenty (20) years in prison. Yikes ☹. I called and interviewed about fifteen (15) attorneys. I didn’t think it was going to be as challenging to find a good criminal attorney. They were overpriced, did not understand the charge, never returned my call, did not listen or hear the story behind the charge, or some combination of all of the above. When I call Leanna’s office Irene answer the phone and listened to our story with a sympathetic ear. She made me feel like all she had to do for the day was listen to me. I no longer felt alone at that point. She said Leanna would call me back. Oh no, here we go again. She called me within 15 minutes. Again, she listened and gave us options and an invitation to meet in person. That was a breath of fresh air. The emotions aside our first meeting was information without the pressure of giving her a retainer and hiring her. When we left both my son and I felt that there might be a light at the end of the tunnel. She was the first person in seventy-two hours that made sense who knew her job and who knew it well. We had a very short conversation on the way home. Once home we retained Leanne to represent my son. The best thing we ever did. Leanne worked very quickly and very hard to get the charge reduced to a misdemeanor and then dropped. All of that before she was paid in full. Now for the expungement. I will keep you posted as we move forward toward that. Iris, you are the best! From day one you have always made us feel human and not just another number. You may probably do not even understand how important what you do and how you do is. Leanne, you are nothing short of amazing! You gave my son back his life. You are a true humanitarian. I can never thank you enough.
