Paid Mr. Katalinic nearly $8,000. At a first glance his appearance was abit odd for that of a higher end attorney, sporting a bald top, with 2ft long Jerry Curls on the sides and back. However all the consultations prior to paying him went well, he assured us that he had a very good relationship with the judges and state attournies, and overall he seemed promising. After payment he became a complete nightmare of representation. He was never on time, I would have to inform the court that I was still waiting on my attourney to show up, and would eventually do so just in the knick of time before court ended, just to ask the judge for a continuance. This went on for at least 4 court dates. Prior to my plea date, I had become infuriated with his lack of communication with me. I called his secretary almost every day for a month, getting every excuse under the sun, before I was able to arrange an in-person meeting with him. During this meeting he treated me as if he never met me or knew anything of my case. About a week before the big court date, feeling terrified about my legal representation and wanting to consider other options, I called his secretary to ask them for an itemized cost breakdown of the retainer he was paid. She told me she'd have Mr. Katalinic call me back, which never happened of coarse. On my plea date, I again wait for him a nervous wreck, and when he finally shows, he became very aggressive and verbal, causing quite abit of attention in the back of the court room. When it was my turn to be seen, the judge asked me a few questions about my plea, and I had to tell him that I wasn't sure how to respond or proceed as I've not had any contact with Mr. Katalinic, not been given any paperwork on the states offer or any plea agreement. At this point he became completely unglued professionally, calling me a liar. After a little back and forth between him and the judge about his behavior in his courtroom, he eventually informs the judge that he is no longer going to represent me. Overall it made a legal nightmare far worse than it already was. Since then, I've emailed and called so many times trying to get a receipt or cost breakdown of the retainer he was paid, and I've come to the conclusion that I will have to report him to the BAR association, and quite possibly sue him to be refunded. Learn from my mistake, if your seeking legal representation, especially criminal matters, absolutely do not hire this man. Please STAY AWAY! I would NEVER suggest anyone use this law firm! I retained Rendi Katalinic, for which should of been an easy case. He was retained via a phone call, and did not even set up a consultation prior to my hearing, until I requested one. Mr. Katalinic conducted my consultation in a workout jump suit. very unprofessional. The day of court, it was apparent to all whom attended the hearing, Mr. Katalinic did no preparation for the hearing. Most of the time I had to tell him what the other party was talking about. All information I provided him, which would of helped my case, he refused to use. A few days after the hearing I requested Mr. Katalinic return monies I paid him, so I could retain proper representation. When Mr. Katalinic refused to, I told him I was going to report him to the Florida Bar and the Better Business Bureau. Mr. Katalinic responded "please do not treated physical harm to me or my office". Mr. Katalinic then violated "Client Lawyer Privilege", by adding our emails to court records. Also, Mr. Katalinic violated "Client Lawyer Privileged", by contacting the other party in the case and advising them of our emails. I reported Mr. Katalinic violations to the Florida Bar, which was concerned of his actions. At this time an investigation in Mr. Katalinic's serious violations, has been launched. FYI, Florida Bar Complaint Ref # 19-13455. Just adds to the complaints against Mr. Katalinic! The other party in question, testified in the next hearing she was contacted by Mr. Katalinic, whom provided her information regarding information between Mr. Katalinic and myself! Mr. Katalinic is a liar and should be disbarred! BTW, even the court bailiffs speak and agree how incompetent he is.
