I cannot begin to describe what an amazing attorney Carmen Soto is…so I’ll just tell you what she has done for me and my family. I live 900 miles away from Ft. Lauderdale and was served court papers from there in 2011 regarding a domestic order, geography was not in my favor. I was at a loss as I had no family, contacts or associates in Florida who could recommend an attorney for me or even where to begin to find one. My company had a free legal reference service and provided me with Carmen’s number along with a few others. Carmen was my first phone call…and my last. After speaking with her over the phone for almost an hour, I was certain she was the one I could rely on to help me with this. What neither one of us knew at the time was this was about to turn into an exhausting 6-year legal battle …all while I sat 900 miles away. Putting my trust into someone to represent me does not come easily and especially in legal matters such as this. I could not afford to fly or drive to Florida regularly to meet with her or submit documentation or to do anything a normal client would do with their attorney, but Carmen and her staff always took care things and kept me informed. Carmen studied the case and case laws relating to this matter and time and time again represented me as if I was her only client only requiring me to appear in Florida when it was absolutely necessary (about 4 times over the course of 6 years). Carmen’s determination, understanding of the law and tireless efforts through motion after motion resulted in rulings in our favor every time. When those rulings were appealed, Carmen didn’t hesitate to meet them head on and her dogged perseverance resulted in those appeals being dismissed again and again. After 6 years of this ongoing legal battle, the last of the appeals was dismissed and the case has for now, come to a close. I don’t know what I would have done without Carmen’s representation through this case. Being so far away and fighting a case in South Florida seemed overwhelming, but Carmen proved to me over and over that she was there for me and never ceased to deliver. I can’t imagine hiring a better attorney than Carmen…she is fair, informative, understanding, kind and above all a consummate professional who made me feel like I was her only client. Thank you Carmen, I can’t tell you that enough.
