Kemie was a blessing since the moment we started working on my custody case. She worked diligently, kept me updated with necessary information and did not ever waste my time nor my money. She obtained results and always looked after my daughter's interest ... a real human being.

Mrs. King was the best decision I chose when hiring a lawyer. She was very professional, and always attentive to my case. Always answered and returned my calls timely. She got me the results any father could have wished for in a divorce and child custody hearing. I highly recommend her if your are looking for a lawyer of a caring, tough, and well educated in her profession.

Ms. King is a total waste of time. She is very unprofessional, her communication skills are very poor and she is never prepared for court. Ms. King was retained to handle a family issue on my behalf and things did not go well.Needless to say she lost the case and the opposing attorney out did her by a huge margin. I would not waste my time to contact her.

I retained Mrs King and the start of 2016 with the forethought that litigating in my divorce would be a complicated contested one. Mrs King's advised me that at the end of the case we should achieve the results that i wanted. I was actually surprised by how much communication was actually taken place between us. I think we spoke probably every other week, either she checked in and calmed my nerves or she had information that was valid. I would recommend Mrs King to Every and Any one who is in need of an Attorney.

If you're looking for a lawyer that communicates, always responds in a timely manner, educates you on any and all processes and timelines, speaks with you instead talking at you, and knows how to get the JOB DONE!!! Then you need to look no further Kemie King Esq. 2015 was an absolutely terrible legal year for me. Or at least it should have been. My separated "wife" was more concerned about collecting child support, instead going through with the divorce process because it would force a parenting plan. My cosmetically appealing condo in Coconut Creek turned out to be a moldy dud. I'm talking the dish washer flooded after the first use and water leaked from the A/C unit immediately. Twas not a good time. I sorted through so many reviews and met with so many attorneys. At this time, though, I've read every statute there is on divorce and parenting plans. I read every forum, reddit, anything with advice and tips on how things may shake out and how to go about things. However, every time I sat in front of an attorney and tried to discuss what I wanted, the conversations were impersonal and I always felt as though they were talking at me. I was fruatrated. Because I know, just like people, not all attorneys are created equal. So much so I just put the divorce on the back burner and just paid the support order and saw my sons on when I wasn't working a second job to keep up. Then I had this terrible condo situation where I wanted to break the lease and absolutely needed an attorney. I was referred to Kemie King. It was just pure dumb luck. I made a phone call to her line and she answered. Told her about my condo situation. She told me she normally works with landlords but was willing to work with me after hearing about the situation. It was about a month and half long process of my landlord trying to make a ton a stipulations for me to leave in agreement, before trying to secretly evict me. But Mrs. King kept warning me to keep an eye on notices and to keep an eye on public records because I no longer stayed in the condo; Also to take pictures and videos of all the mold and apartment issues. This is when I got to see first hand just how good and knowledgeable Mrs. King really was. She plays hard ball with the best of them. Seemed to bring out her best stuff. The back and forth between the landlords attorney and Ms. King was incredible. This is when I knew I was I was in good hands. Kemie King does not back down and coaches well on how to respond and when to remain silent. I got the Voluntary Dismissal to save my credit from any judgements and saved me from the eviction. During the eviction process, Mrs. King became aware of my situation with my separated wife. You could get the sense that she actually cares. We talked. Discussed the process. I found my divorce attorney. This time she was more tactical than I could have ever dreamed. I won't say a word about how she got me through this divorce so efficiently, because I won't dare share any of her tactics. I'm talking ZERO mitigation, only because I took her advice on how to communicate with my now ex-wife. If you listen to what Kemie says, and do it exactly as she says it, you can get things done. And most importantly, she listened to me and acknowledged my feedback. She worked with me and what I wanted. I got exactly what I wanted after Kemie set the expectaions. Mrs. King got the separation done. Got the parenting plan done with 50/50 time sharing. When that was done, went right after the Department of Revenue to get the support order modified. Again, Kemie King does not back down and did her best work when contested. Thank you, Kemie!!

From the very first call, I knew I picked the right firm. No question was too much. Every question was answered in a timely fashion. Each time I desired a change to something, I received sound easy to understand responses that helped me decide how important my original request was or was not. Bottom line, Chelsea and Hillary were both fantastic. I rarely do reviews so that the fact that I did this one should really tell you something.

Had an issue with former landlord and return of my security deposit. Contacted Scarnecchia Mullin and within 2 days Hillary had reviewed my situation, provided excellent advice and counsel on how to proceed. She also drafted and sent a letter to the landlord which resulted in an amicable resolution to my issue within 1 week. I was not expecting the quick turnaround time and resolution. I highly recommend this firm for their responsiveness, thoroughness and results.

I hired Cliff and his firm to handle a very complicated case after my business partner died. We had to aggressively but smartly get the company back from a bitter but sympathetic widow who would have driven the company and its employees into the ground. So thankful I hired a Cliff and Wolff Law. Got a result I never thought possible. Better than ever expected. All because of a smart strategy from the very beginning.

Mr. Wolff was able to give me sound advice and help me out with a very difficult and touchy situation. He also was able to handle the very aggressive opposing attorney handsomely, so that the matter could be concluded with a minimum of stress and a great result. I will definitely call on him again when I need legal help and have recommended him and will continue to recommend him to friends and business associates.

My wife and I own a sports agency. We were introduced to Zach through a close personal friend. He really impressed us with his knowledge of law. We hired him as our general counsel for the agency. Little did we know that we would have to use his services within a month of us hiring him. We had an age/ identity dispute with a prospective client in the Dominican Republic. I tried to resolve the issue by myself but kept getting the runaround from the main MLB office. I let Zach know that I wasn't getting anywhere with the issue and let him take over. Within 48 hours he had the issue resolved and we were able to have the player eligible to sign with any big league team. In another instance we had an issue with a marketing company and one of our clients. I had Zach and his father Leon take care of the situation with their expertise in that type of law. They had a very aggressive approach while protecting the agency and myself. At the end of this particular situation I was very pleased with the outcome. I highly recommend the Margules Law Firm.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Fort Lauderdale, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
