Ms Simmonds was hired to be my attorney I'd say back in 2019 for a custody case. After being hired my ex and I had a situation where we had to hold off on our case for 2/3 years until it was all situated. After 2/3 years SHE CONTINUED to represent me and helped me out up to today where the case has finally been dismissed/closed. She's been there for me since before my daughter was 1 years old, she is now 5 going on 6. Very dedicated. Very helpful. Has been nothing but kind and compassionate, especially with what my daughter and I just went through. I would highly recommend her if you're looking for someone to represent you. Thank you for all that you've done for us.

After it seemed like everybody just didn't want to help me, or gave me False information and hope. I found Tasha through one of my clients... in a matter of a week I was able to be with my son again after years. Tasha is straight forward, no sugar coating. Gets things done, and doesn't play NO games. I'm so thankful for her and highly recommend her!

This woman is a terrible lawyer I acquired her through Marble Law and she constantly had me confused with other people she worked for. Then would she would realize she had the wrong person she would literally tell me oh I was just about to call you that was of course a lie. I would not recommend this lawyer to anyone. When I was preparing for a hearing with her to build a defense for a child custody/ childsupport case this woman had the biggest attitude when I would try to explain myself to her in regards to what I wanted. As if she was paying me I would once again not recommend this lady. To add insult to injury she would never pick up the phone when I called she wouldn't call me back ever within a timely manner. For example she was suppose to send an email that I needed to fill out as a response to the court on that Friday she said she would send it on her way out the office this women never sent the email and i was suppose to be that Monday. I was sweating bullets waiting on this email I called a text I prayed she never responded until that Sunday. But only to tell me she's at church right now and she's going to call once she gets out. I didn't hear from here until almost night time. Then when I she finally sent the email this lady tells me oh you don't actually need to fill it out anyway. Keep in mind this is after waiting all day Friday and all day Saturday and most of that Sunday. We then have a conversation the following week when she calls to get some information from me and we end up having a sparing match by words over my physical address that the court didn't even request they only had requested the mailing which she already had along with the courts. I couldn't believe the nerve the lawyer I am paying for arguing with me over information that the court isn't even requesting and then she uses this information in the future to get me dropped from Marble Law all together. It went like this she called me late that day after 5pm with the phone on speaker as if she was laying back relaxing and wanting just to rush the conversation as if I was her last stop of the day. I took a lot of offense to that conversation and decided based on the wrong names I was constantly getting called because of her mix ups and lack of following up and showing any concern about my case, I decided to just drop her all together. So I then call Marble they explain the process says it will be no problem asked my what was wrong and I explained to them everything that I had written here. So within less than three days I was switched to another attorney out of Ocala named Brian Laird. Well I received an initial call from this gentleman to introduce himself and he just gave me the run down about what was our next steps and he explained that he would be following up with me. Fast forward a few days go by and I haven't heard back from Brian when I call him he tells me that I had been dropped by Marble law and he didn't know why. So I then proceed to call Marble when I do this they inform me that I was dropped because Tasha Simmonds had said that I had with held information keep in mind this hearing is about my eight year old son. Just to show you how sinister this woman is. The information that she said that I with held was my address which I showed them in an email from her that she already had the mailing as well as the courts but she had got an attitude about the physical for what ever reason when even she stated the courts aren't asking for a physical just a mailing which everyone already had. This woman had made it seemed to Marble as if i had with held information that the courts needed and I then proceeded to send the email proving my point as to how she was a manipulator and liar. I then was called by a woman from Marble named Athena who fought for me and took those emails to her higher ups and I was rewarded a full refund. Needless to say I am letting everyone that I know, know about this woman and her diabolic practices and erratic behavior.

I interviewed 5 lawyers following being served divorce papers in 2019. I say, now with hindsight, that Tasha Simmonds was the right choice. Attorney Simmonds is an exceptional lawyer and achieved great results. She has creative ideas, is an excellent negotiator and has a comprehensive and impressive knowledge of family law. She was available around the clock and provided me with options and recommendations which were objective and effective. She always took the time to explain the law and made sure I understood the law. I would 100% recommend.

From the very first call, I knew I picked the right firm. No question was too much. Every question was answered in a timely fashion. Each time I desired a change to something, I received sound easy to understand responses that helped me decide how important my original request was or was not. Bottom line, Chelsea and Hillary were both fantastic. I rarely do reviews so that the fact that I did this one should really tell you something.

Had an issue with former landlord and return of my security deposit. Contacted Scarnecchia Mullin and within 2 days Hillary had reviewed my situation, provided excellent advice and counsel on how to proceed. She also drafted and sent a letter to the landlord which resulted in an amicable resolution to my issue within 1 week. I was not expecting the quick turnaround time and resolution. I highly recommend this firm for their responsiveness, thoroughness and results.

I hired Cliff and his firm to handle a very complicated case after my business partner died. We had to aggressively but smartly get the company back from a bitter but sympathetic widow who would have driven the company and its employees into the ground. So thankful I hired a Cliff and Wolff Law. Got a result I never thought possible. Better than ever expected. All because of a smart strategy from the very beginning.

Mr. Wolff was able to give me sound advice and help me out with a very difficult and touchy situation. He also was able to handle the very aggressive opposing attorney handsomely, so that the matter could be concluded with a minimum of stress and a great result. I will definitely call on him again when I need legal help and have recommended him and will continue to recommend him to friends and business associates.

I recently hired Zach to assist me with a contract. Not only is he knowledgeable, intelligent, and highly competent when it comes to entertainment/sports/business/contract law, he was able to articulate everything in a very succinct and easy to understand way. I would recommend Zach to anyone who needs a transactional attorney!

My wife and I own a sports agency. We were introduced to Zach through a close personal friend. He really impressed us with his knowledge of law. We hired him as our general counsel for the agency. Little did we know that we would have to use his services within a month of us hiring him. We had an age/ identity dispute with a prospective client in the Dominican Republic. I tried to resolve the issue by myself but kept getting the runaround from the main MLB office. I let Zach know that I wasn't getting anywhere with the issue and let him take over. Within 48 hours he had the issue resolved and we were able to have the player eligible to sign with any big league team. In another instance we had an issue with a marketing company and one of our clients. I had Zach and his father Leon take care of the situation with their expertise in that type of law. They had a very aggressive approach while protecting the agency and myself. At the end of this particular situation I was very pleased with the outcome. I highly recommend the Margules Law Firm.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Fort Lauderdale, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
