I live in New York and my dad lives in South Florida. My father is not computer-literate, so he asked me to find a good attorney for his Estate Planning near where he lives. I found Barry Haimo on Avvo and he was the only attorney to follow up with me. I recommended my dad hire him. Unfortunately, dad hired another "attorney" from his retirement condo village on the cheap. Like many "retired" attorneys, who tend to work well after their career should have ended, this woman (lets call her the "old lady,") made a mess of it. Her forms were years out of date. Some made no sense at all. The old lady charged him a pittance, but did an awful job, producing documents that were legally insufficient and probably malpractice. After the banks here in NY refused to form a trust account based on her flawed work, I convinced my Dad to hire Barry. In spite of the difficult situation with the previous lawyer, Mr Haimo met my dad at his condo, advised him clearly, and fixed everything with revised, up-to-date documents that my bank was happy to accept. His work is demonstrably far superior to the work done by the old lady that preceded him.
