This past year my children and I had to go through some very unfortunate events due to the lack of co-parenting and after a few other consultations with other attorneys I finally met Mr. Joseph Cerino. Joseph from the beginning told me what he thought about my case and what needed to be done and what steps I needed to take to have my children back in my life. As a mother with no experience on family law or the "who,what,where" I was lost not knowing who to speak too, what to do, or where to go. Joseph helped me me with all these things soon things were moving and I was finally able to see my children after 5 months of not being able to see or have any contact with them. Never once did Joseph back off he pushed and fought legally for close to 8 months on behalf of my children and myself to get us the proper time and shared custody we were being denied. Joseph was able to get me 50/50 shared custody and a schedule works great for both the children and myself. I give much thanks to Mr. Joseph Cerino for his great dedication and for all he's done for my family. I would highly recommend Joseph Cerino to anyone seeking an attorney.

As my criminal attorney Joseph Cerino helped me out through one of the toughest things I had to go through this past year. I almost felt as if I were on the verge of loosing my life in so many ways I have so much that depends on me. First and foremost most my children. Due to a very petty incident state was trying to charge me with a felony. Joseph reassured me that we had a great case of stand your ground and that we had a very fair judge. After months of on going courts we finally had our ruling date and not knowing what to expect we walked into that court where the judge took everything into consideration and granted our stand you ground and the case was dismissed. I walked out the court room emotional and appreciative to Joseph Cerino for all his hard work and effort. Thank you Joseph now me and my children can go back to our normal lives and be able to enjoy our life style as it once was.

My experience with this attorney is that he took all of the money that he could from me! He promised me many things with my case and he did not deliver. I paid him over $21,000 in total for at least 3 years,and my settlement ended up only being $15,000. He also tried to also take some of that! For the most part, when you get into a debate and need legal representation, the only people who really win are the attorneys. Tom Smoot made sure that he knew my financial situation from the beginning of this case so that he could drag the case out for as long as he could so that he could continue being paid, promise me the world in the beginning to keep me motivated by paying him, and suck me dry like a vacuum. I lost my condo and a lot of my money, as well as my well being and sanity dealing with him! I would not recommend this attorney to anyone. If you don't want to end up broke, look the other way! My honest opinion is that I believe Tom Smoot and the defendant were in bed together, (not literally) which is why things did not work out for me. I have a slight distrust in attorneys now because of my experience with him.

I hired Joseph Cerino for my dependency case in November 2013. The case began in December 2012 and after a strenuous year of working a dcf caseplan, I had made little progress and was only allowed to be around my child under supervision. I had a month of incarceration resulting from a VOP, and everybody had lost faith in me. At this point, the most probable outcome of the case would be permanently losing custody of my child. After some research in the Lee County region, I read great reviews about Joseph Cerino who has well over a decades experience in Family & Criminal Law . I scheduled a consultation with him and my first and ongoing impression with him was upfront, honest, and to the point. The reason I hired Joseph was because he was able to see the case from both sides, and he had faith that if I made certain changes I would gain back custody. After 11 months of using public defenders, I finally got the legal advice I needed all along. Right off the bat he gave me a checklist of tasks I needed to accomplish. From that point on I was restored hope in a lengthy, retrogressive case. The case was at an all time low, but having communicated with Joe, I was able to get through it. . If a case takes longer then a year, then a permanent decision is put in place; the state was leaning towards adoption. Within a weeks we were able to prolong the case from being closed. Within 3 months the goal of my case went from adoption towards reunification, I was strongly focused on finishing my case plan, and my visits quadrupled. After 13 months of fighting for time with my daughter, I had finally gained unsupervised visits. If it wasn’t for his advice, I am 100% sure I wouldn’t have gotten this far, especially in this short amount of time. Joe helped me communicate in court, something my previous attorneys were never able to do. He is a sharp attorney, and doesn’t sugar coat anything; he gives you straight facts, point blank. I was in constant communication with him every week, and he consistently gave me the advice I needed to win. I gained overnight visits within 5 months of hiring him, and was reunified with my child within 6 months. Life for me has changed more in this period of time then it has in the entire case. Now my child and I are back together and I am closing this chapter in my book. But I wanted to take the time to let anyone who is in similar shoes to seek out Joseph Cerino, an attorney who has realness, and a genuine heart for families.
