“Tony” Marino saved me from a leasing company that was coming after me with their lawyers for a 6-figure sum. I knew it was bogus but needed strong representation on my side. Tony is a neighbor, and a friend who has always had the interests of the people he represents at heart. He took every step of my case seriously and ultimately my corporate adversary closed the case and settled for $0.00! Thank you Tony for your hard work, and helping me through a difficult financial time by making your payment terms reasonable. I owe you a debt of gratitude for your success on my behalf.

Mr. Angelo Marino, Jr., Esq. is an amazing lawyer and litigator. He is well versed on the law and has extensive knowledge and experience with the judicial process from the local level to the Florida Supreme Court. From the first time that I engaged his office, I was treated in a professional manner. From my perspective, Mr. Marino keeps his clients informed at every step. How would I know? Because, throughout my experience with his firm, I have been provided with the legal advise to make sound decisions rooted in reality. To that end, Mr. Marino takes care to provide every option before a case moves forward. His compassion and professionalism is second to none. I would recommend this amazing litigator without reservation. If you need an honest, extremely competent lawyer, do not hesitate to contact Mr. Angelo Marino, Jr., Esq. You will be glad that you did.

A few years back I was slammed by Citybank Credit cards false charges, continue daily harassment and preposterous lawsuit. Mr. Marino resolved my nightmare and helped me without any fee which every attorney refused my case. He is the most capable proficient attorney dedicating his entire business practice to defend and protect consumer rights. I shall always remain in gratitude to him for his indispensable aid and for providing extraordinary legal care with highest professional standard which are a rare treasure to disadvantaged consumers such as me.... I thank Angelo Marino Consumer’s Protection Law Office for saving me from vultures..

Attorney Marino handled my case professionaly and humanely. He honestly looks out for your best interest and understand your issues and goals. His staff is great and always available, even on holidays or when Attorney Marino is on vacation or holiday. His fees are more than fair to say the least. My experience was smooth, he is simply a pleasure to deal with, yes this is one of the few that is like that and I would recommend him in a second. One phone call and you will understand what I mean. Call him without hesitation and with full confidence. It's hard to put into words but he realy makes you feel like you're in good hands, and you really are when you deal with attorney Angelo Marino Jr., as I have had the priviledge to discover. I know I may be sounding like a commercial but this is supposed to be a review, so these are simply the facts about my experience. Thank you for everything Attorney Marino

Angelo Marino performed services for me recently entailing the defense of 2 commercial and/or debt collection lawsuits and he also provided general business advise that demonstrated his broad range of experience, knowledge and expertise as a personal injury attorney, civil and commercial litigator and general business advisor which, abilities and outcome were/are a welcome surprise and provided an immediate relief and solution to the outcome of my legal matters. Not only did he acheive major success, his command of this and several related areas in commercial transactions, personal injury, general civil litigation as well as his wide range of legal and business experience and acumen immediately put me at ease. I was able to go back to my own life and my own job with the confidence that Mr. Marino and his legal team would communicate and solve my legal issues in an effective, fair and professional manner. The services received were highly effective and provided a tremendous outcome, from a high level, ethical professional whose personal and professional skills and reputation within the legal community are well respected and highly regarded among judges, lay people, and most importantly, among his own peers in the legal community, as well. Mr. Marino effectively disposed of the legal conflicts at hand and assiduously has maintained effective, vigilent representation of my rights in regard to the matters he handles, which expertise is always welcome and essential to an appropriate outcome. Give yourself a Christmas present and make sure that your personal affairs are handled with the skilled businesslike manner that every professional should aspire to in the legal world. Mr. Marino gave me back my faith in the system as well as in the abilty of a highly trained, ethically motivated individual to make a whole lot of difference when choosing to do so on behalf of his/her clients. His enormous talent, energy, enthusiasm, ability and range of knowledge was a welcome and refreshing surprise inside of a legal community and/or system wherein it seemed that this type of highly trained, sophisticated commercial and personal represenation had virtually become something of an unobtainable luxury, of the distant past. Here the the excersise of discretion and/or personal civil and/or sophisticated effective representation of consumer rights his training and background afforded was something I did not believe the 'average' layperson or even an attorney such as myself could afford anymore in addressing personal business affairs in this day and age. It is hard to imagine using anyone else should a similar business or personal injury matter arise in the future. I highly recommend Mr. Marino's represenation, there are not many talented professionals available to the general public anymore in our community. His representation proved to be indispensible and provided options and the opportunity to correct various legal matters that I did not realize even existed. Thanks for the opportunity to share my experience.

John is an expert in wealth transfer planning and the use of sophisticated life insurance strategies. While working directly with several life insurance companies, my legal counsel made inquiries as to Attorney Iannucci's experience and expertise. Every company had the same opinion of John and I concur. He was detailed oriented, explained every facet of the proposed plan and answered our questions honestly and openly.

If I could give Robert Foley and Desiree Wilson 10 stars I would do so gladly. I had a situation that required their expertise and from the very beginning I was very impressed. Robert and Desiree asked me to come in person and took the time to explain the entire process from beginning to end. The initial meeting was well over an hour. I'll never forget that. Most attorneys wouldn't go out of their way like that. I had the benefit of having 2 outstanding lawyers for the price of one. Thanks to Robert and Desiree my case was dismissed and I was able to start to get my life back together. To say that I highly recommend them is a under statement. If ever in the future I should need their expertise I would retain them both in a heartbeat.

Very much the professional, Attorney Cruz, put me at ease the moment I walked into his office. As most people feel when they turn to an attorney to perform a task that we cannot do ourselves, I was completely defeated and had no idea of the types of documentation needed. Step by step, he led me through a rather difficult task and gave me the confidence I needed to complete all of the paperwork. He stayed "connected" and in less than 3 weeks the entire process was completed. In spite of the complete professional approach, I know he is a compassionate individual who intended to provide me with peace of mind. He listens!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Fort Myers, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
