Doc was demanding a lot of money at the 11th. hour. Money which they had waived ten years earlier. After three court hearings the case was dropped thanks to Mr.Garlands efforts.

Mr. Jeffery Garland has once again came through for me. With in a very short time, after hiring him, all my charges were dropped, one was a felony. Over the years Jeffery has handled a variety of cases for me and I have always had a positive out come. He works hard and knows the law. Jeffery is th best and his price is very reasonable. People I have recommended him to were very pleased with his work I highly recommend him.

Hired an incompetent attorney before finding Mr. Garland. I knew when I first spoke to Mr. Garland that I had made the right decision. He gave me the BEST of his time, service, energy and effort and got me the results that I needed. His work was very detail-oriented and well-written. In the courtroom he is self-confident, respected and assertive when it counts. All charges dropped by prosecutor !! Mr. Garland was also very willing to go to trial for me without hesitation and thankfully it never came to that. Much appreciated . THANK YOU !

Jeffrey Garland was able to do what my previous two attorney's were unable/unwilling to do. I originally paid a huge sum of money to another attorney thinking the more expensive the better service I will receive. This was completely false. I rarely got any communication from them even after calling and leaving multiple emails. Jeffrey Garland was the complete opposite. He was very thorough and always willing to listen. His rates were very fair and he was also knowledge. I was facing jail time with multiple felonies. With the help of Jeffrey Garland I was able to move on with my life with no jail time, a withheld adjudication on all felonies and 5 years probation. This was the best outcome I could have hoped for without going to trail and he got it done for me.

I have been blessed to have had Ms. LeBlanc as my family law attorney for several years. Circumstances has caused me to deal with several different attorneys in various areas of law, which has caused me to become fairly experienced. I would also not consider my family law case a simple or straightforward one. Ms. LeBlanc has not only met my expectations, but has often far exceeded them. She is not only an intelligent and competent attorney, her character is one of honesty and kindness, and she is an all around beautiful person. She is thoughtful and compassionate. She will fight for you, but she will not mislead you either. These are all qualities that are so important to find in an attorney, and Ms. LeBlanc possesses them all. She has not only been a tremendous asset to my family law case, but I have felt comfortable enough to reach out to her in regards to other legal matters. Ms. LeBlanc has always happily either been able to help me directly or has guided me in the right direction. She is easy to contact and has a great record in regards to getting back to you. I have personally recommended Ms. LeBlanc to countless others, and I would highly recommend her to anyone. You cannot go wrong with her and you will not be disappointed!

Amy was on top of the case from day one. She was reachable through e-mail, phone, and text; even after regular office hours. She knew exactly what she was doing and she not only cared about the case but also about me as a person. She was very supportive throughout the whole process. I knew I was in good hands when I first met her. Thanks you Amy for bringing my family together.

A+ Excellent criminal defense attorney. Mr. Hugo Concha was very thorough when he took the depositions/interrogations of the State's witnesses, and it helped our case big-time. He kept us informed, and was always very polite. We were usually able to contact him personally. If we left him a message, he would always return our calls, even during the evenings. Actually, Mr. Hugo Concha treated us like family, and to our surprise, this lawyer actually kept his word, he was able to get the charges reduced! Mr. Concha is a true professional with a lot of experience, and it showed. If you have serious criminal charges, I highly recommend Mr. Hugo Concha to use the right strategy to help you.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Fort Pierce, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
