When I reached out to Richelle I knew I had an uphill battle, battles that I had previously lost and left me feeling hopeless. As a Dad seeking primary custody, I felt all odds were stacked against me, until I met Richelle. Right off the bat she made me feel like I was her only client, diving deep into my current situation and laying out a flawless foundation that ultimately led to victory! Highly intelligent, Richelle outsmarted opposing counsel every step of the way and left opposing counsel with little to no case at all. Watching opposing counsels frustrations and defeat written on his face really showed how well Richelle presented and attacked every angle of my case. Compassionate, Richelle never treated me like I was just another case. I truly felt that she cared about me and my family and wanted what was best for us and her fight in the courtroom proved that. Richelle was always ready available, there were many of instances where I needed to speak with her after hours or on weekends and she was always just a ring or text away. A true warrior in the courtroom, and she does it with no ego. If your looking for a warrior to lead you through battle, who attacks and doesn’t let go until the battle is won then Richelle is your attorney. She is a game changer, I am forever grateful for her dedication to my case and her fight to win. I highly recommend Richelle, you don’t want to see her at the other end of the table.

Richelle's veteran experience and savvy grasp of family law literally turned my whole case around. She was unrelenting and engaged with our case from the moment we first spoke. We are incredibly happy with Richelle and you will be too. If you have a family law case the best decision you can make is to retain Richelle.

Ms Marsico of Fourier Law had a clear understanding of the law, the process and the appropriate strategy to employ in my case. The results met or exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend considering using her as your legal representative.

To tell you the truth, the first time I met Richelle, I thought she seemed quiet and reserved. I wondered if she had the fierceness that would be necessary to help my friend fight for her child. Then I talked to her specifically about this case, and suddenly, I saw the fighter come out! I realized she was like a tiger, crouching, and ready to pounce! She was passionate about the injustice she saw in the situation and seemed to know exactly what legal moves we needed to take. My hope grew. Then, I saw her in the courtroom. Wow! The tiger pounced! She spoke so confidently to the judge and the other players in the situation, and believe me, they sat up and took notice. I think they suddenly realized my friend could no longer be pushed around by the system. And yet, Richelle did this without ego, and without the need for accolades. She just wanted to get the job done. Within just weeks after my friend hired her, Richelle did indeed get the case dismissed. She knew what legal moves to make, she ensured that my friend felt confident in those moves, and she directed her as to exactly what steps she needed to take to protect her child and support her case. What I really appreciated was how patiently she would listen to my friend during the process, bolster her confidence, and make herself and her legal secretary available for any necessary detail—without wasting time or money. She really passionately cared about the situation. She very quickly gave my friend the protection and the direction she needed to turn the situation around. When hiring a lawyer, it's so important to find the right fit. To find someone who will fight for you. To find someone who will answer your questions and make sure your needs are met without wasting your time or money. Richelle was that person for my friend. I feel confident she will be fighting for many more underdogs over the course of her career, and I bless her for it. Thank you, Richelle. You were a rock star.

Where to even begin….In what has been the most difficult time in my life, Richelle has been a godsend. There is no one else I’d rather go to battle with other than Richelle. Always incredibly well prepared, she stays a step ahead with her tireless dedication. I feel as if she’s thought out every possible outcome or situation and has a plan to adjust if needed. In a tough situation, it was reassuring to have someone who was actively working for the right outcome, as opposed to simply reacting. Richelle made me feel as if my case was her most important and only concern. It doesn’t matter the time or day, my emails or calls were always addressed. I can’t express how reassuring it is to see “Richelle” pop up on the phone when I just had to talk with her. She is brilliant, a bulldog with an appetite for winning , compassionate, and absolutely the one that you want in your corner. I’ll forever be grateful for what Richelle and her team have done for me .

I incorrectly posted a negative review for this lawyer, which I am hoping will be removed shortly. John has a heart and goes out of his way to make the client feel important and defended. I would recommend him to everyone. Thank you John - you are a lawyer I can trust.

I came to John Phillips office with little or no hope that I could prove my innocence or survive the alligations against me, I didn't think I would survive emotionally what myself and family were being put through. John along with Reid Hart listen to my story, they explained to me what they could do help me,and how they would go about helping me.My family and I felt so much better about my case and my chances of clearing my name after my conversation with John Phillips, and Ried Hart. I don't know if I would have ever gotten through this ordeal if a friend hadn't suggested that I go speak with John. Every motion they file every question they ask is all tied into getting to the truth, and giving you the best chance of victory I will never use another Law Firm other John Phillips Law firm for anything legal that might come up on my life again. Law firms like John Phillips and Lawyers like Reid Hart don't come like grapes in Bunches.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Jacksonville, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
