A short vacation trip to the Keys resulted in my arrest during a traffic stop along with a subsequent prosecution by the State Attorney office of the 16th judicial circuit. We had an unfortunate incident while vacationing in Key West that led to my husband's arrest, and subsequent criminal charge. We live quite for from Key West, and were not sure how we would manage court appearances, etc. Ultimately, we hoped to have the case dropped (as there was no evidence other than intoxication). However, the case was not dropped by the State's Attorney's office. It was actually aggressively pursued. So, we hired Sam Kaufman and his team to represent my husband, and we are very glad we did. The legal team at the Kaufman firm handled as many court appearances as possible and pushed to get us a speedy trial (as the State's Attorney kept extending the case and pushing back the trial). We only had to go to Key West right before the trial. Ultimately, the case was dismissed by the prosecutor 2 days before trial, and we were all very relieved.
