If someone needs a patent lawyer, I would recommend Mark Malek. He is very approachable and knowledgeable, and is very supportive of what you are trying to do. I needed to find a patent lawyer who I felt I could trust and who wouldn't charge me an arm and a leg to get the job done. I trusted him with my creation to establish my patent, and I have been very pleased with the work he has done for me.

Mark is a unique patent attorney because he has a great grasp our technology (wireless communications). He's able to prepare our applications with minimal inputs from our technical team. He also does a great job of comparing and contrasting our inventions with prior art to help is get our patents awarded with minimal office actions.

Yes I would recommend Mark Malek, in fact I have, several times. Mark immediately understood the mechanical mechanisms that I had invented. Mark helped me through the process and secured a patent for me. He had a solution at each step of the process. Patent search, drawings, claims etc. Re the patent process, I didn't have to keep the ball rolling. He did. Mark was the second patent attorney I used on this invention. The first one did not work out, as he was extremely nervous to even be in an industrial shop environment and didn't seem to comprehend my invention. Enter Mark Malek. Several times, while I was explaining various aspects of the complicated mechanisms, to Mark, he would stop me in mid sentence and finish the explanation of that component. At first I was a little miffed by the interruptions, but soon realized Mark already had a deep understanding of both the whole machine and all of its components. His taking over in mid sentence actually gave me confidence that I had the right man for the job. In fact, I asked him how he could know so much about engineering, when his field was law. He then told me of some of his past work experiences, that helped prepare him to be a successful patent attorney. By the way the ladies in his office staff are both professional and helpful. They add a personal touch by remembering me when I call in. Thanks to Mark, I am currently presenting my product to industry and seeking a licensing agreement.

Mark has provided excellent advice on our patent matters. He has a very practical and effective approach in working with the USPTO to further an application and position it for approval.
