Bryan Lober has been a great friend to Coastal Poodle Rescue. He has represented us on a number of occasions when we have needed excellent legal advice in regard to issues we have had regarding a dog and new owner. In the last case Bryan was able to facilitate the quick return of a poodle that needed to come back into rescue. I would recommend, and have recommended, Bryan to anyone needing legal advise and help pertaining to an animal

Bryan was my lawyer for two related cases. He is very knowledgeable and polite. I found it much easier to reach him by email than by phone. He was always quick to reply to emails but would take much longer to get back to me by phone. I'm still very happy with the work he did and would use him in the future if the need were to arise.

Brian handled my misdemeanor cases and treated me like an important person. Another attorney I talked to just wanted to take my money and have me plead guilty.Brian filed motions and I got a better offer before the motion hearing because the prosecution got scared. I ended up taking the offer and had no jail time and kept my license. I think the prosecution treats defendants differently if they have a good lawyer. If I ever get arrested again, I will hire Brian to defend me.

Mr. Burke was very professional when handling our son's legal matter. He was very knowledgeable in juvenile matters and because of his work ethic, our son's case was settled out of court.

I had the privilege of working with Attorney Jessica Hicks alongside Attorney Andrew Pickett during my personal injury case, and their exceptional representation made all the difference. From the very beginning, they were attentive, compassionate, and highly engaged with every detail of my case. Attorney Jessica Hicks, in particular, formed a great personal connection with me, truly understanding the pain and challenges I faced after my accident. Their communication was outstanding, keeping me informed at every step through phone calls, office visits, text messages, and their office app. Attorney Jessica Hicks’ dedication and persistence led to securing the full allowable settlement amount without the need to go to court, which was an immense relief. I cannot recommend Attorney Jessica Hicks and Attorney Andrew Pickett highly enough. Their knowledge, support, and commitment are of the highest caliber. Jessica, in particular, is a determined and relentless advocate, ensuring that I was fully supported and heard throughout the process. If you're looking for attorneys who will truly fight for you, Jessica Hicks and Andrew Pickett Law are the ones to choose.

My local Social Security Attorney had done all she could right up to the 3rd appeal. I was lost and had no direction. Then still trying to save myself, during an internet search I found Bradley! I got an appointment with him quick. I new right away he was going to win for me! He listened intently to every word I said. He or his professional staff contacted me frequently to follow up on every detail! It took several painful years - WE WON!! With all back pay but for 2 years! Bradley changed my life! His is my HERO! I will remember him always in my prays! GOD Bless Bradley! Knight in Shining Armor! A Winner!

I had severe malpractice with many insurance Dr's trying to cover it up and grossly underestimating the disability. I filed for Disability and was turned down then hired another attorney who appealed and lost again. I found Brad who read the denial and in 1 minute said " I will get this denial thrown out and we should win the case" . He said the judge used the wrong pain scale and applied something else incorrectly as well and cited the court cases! He explained the best way to win a SS disability case including getting a SS Disability Evaluation by a Dr. Then Brad writes a brief for the SS Judge using the SS Eval and the Dr reports in your favor into a concise Document. He did a lot of work on my case and SS jerked him around for years about paying him (as they are required to do). Needless to say he got my denial thrown out (based on what he said) and he won my case. It was likely one of the toughest wins since I got the same biased, totally ignorant Judge who couldn't even pronounce the disease I have (who screwed up my previous appeal) along with many corrupt insurance Drs who were under reporting injuries trying to cover up the permanent injuries they caused by their malpractice and some saying nothing was wrong at all. Brad's staff was first class and answered any question quickly or Brad called you back personally and explained exactly how things work. He is a walking encyclopedia of Supreme Court cases and how they apply to SS Disability. He is the Best, Absolutely Amazing!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Melbourne, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
