Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. once said, “You should always be aware of how you are taking away hope from another person.” Holmes's comment was addressing the impact of what a judge, set of laws, or emotional based decisions can do to someone’s inner soul. Even God says in Proverbs “That hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” I lived almost 30 years feeling that way, but that all changed this past Thursday, when Ron won my appeal. I wanted to send a note, not only to thank him, but to let others know that it just wasn’t about winning a case, it was also about setting a heart free! I hired Mr. Kleiner to handle my petition to be removed from the Florida Sex Offender Registry. I had been on the registry for 20 years. He handled my case very professionally and researched the case laws to argue my petition on being removed from the registry. Because of his dedication and expertise he was successful in providing a legal argument before the judge that I was eligible for removal and the judge ruled in our favor. Mr. Kleiner did explain to me that it was up to the judge ultimately and that there was a possibility that I may be denied and there was no guarantee and I understood the situation and proceeded in petitioning.
