First of all I’m not a bot, they claim every bad review is a bot. Lol I’ve never been through any kind of divorce or court dispute that involves hiring an attorney, so that really leaves me at their mercy, this review is mostly to help the noobs like me so they don’t make the same mistake. I usually don’t have time to make reviews but I feel like I need to get something off my chest so here it goes: I mistakenly hired this law firm mainly because the intake department lured me in. They claimed to get crackheads and prostitutes 50-50 custody. So I figured my case would be a walk in the park. I paid roughly 40% down in the amount of $3000 … (The remainder would have a payment plan)…thats to file for divorce and for wife to be served papers along with a temporary custody hearing. They never filed for a temporary custody hearing which in short left me having to pay back pay child support(minus the $100 a week I’ve voluntary been paying). On top of that my attorney was the only one that advised me not to keep my child overnight against his mothers will. She said it would make me look bad in front of the judge. Maybe this depends on the judge but the one I had today wouldn’t have held it against me. ( because I asked, The judge also informed me had a temporary custody order been filed she would have given me 50/50)…I even called the local law-enforcement with advice they said they wouldn’t even take a call unless there was a court order or imminent danger to the child. Even my attorneys assistant said it shouldn’t be a problem for me to keep my child overnight. Obviously this was very bad advice from my attorney. The second issue I had involved a surgery which left me unemployed for four months. During that time I asked the law firm(intake department) if there was anyway I could lower payments during this rough time. They told me no and if they were to lower the payments then my attorney would no longer work my case. Keep in mind I’ve already paid $3000 to file for divorce and at this time nothing had been filed, My wife hadn’t even been served papers yet. (this process took way longer than expected) So with that argument in mind they did lower payments. There was other minor issues but this was my biggest issue against Alex Hannah law. The law firm has a lot of back-and-forth pointing fingers between intake department and the attorneys. So you can look forward to being bounced around. For me personally they are all “Alex Hanna law firm”. Don’t even bother trying to call and talk to anyone. They have the most annoying auto answering service! 🤦🏻‍♂️Sometimes if you know the extension it helps if they are available. Finally because of this bad review Im writing against them they decided to withdraw from my case last week, Which left me going to court alone today. Also to keep it honest they wanted $650 more to attend this temporary custody hearing. which I refuse to pay. That additional cost was never mentioned until last week, They knew they would have to eventually appear in court on my behalf. Also be advised of the other unexpected cost. Like court cost and mediation cost that’s all additional you’ll have to pay on top of their very high filing fee. So seeing how they stopped working my case and left me alone to face my ex-wife and her attorney in front of the judge. That leaves me wondering do I have a legal right to stop paying them what is owed? 🤔. I mean fair is fair right? Plus it would definitely help me pay the back pay child support that incurred due to their bad advice! Two years later and not a day goes by that I don’t think about how horrible the divorce attorney is at Alex Hannah Law!!! Me and my son still suffer from the choices they convinced me to agree to!! What a waste of money. I would’ve been better off just to represent myself and I guarantee. I probably would’ve had better results. Again, my first time going through a divorce didn’t realize how hard & expensive it would be to overturn the first custody agreement!
