Christopher Lombardo is a good man and his reputation proceeds him as such. I have had the privilege of working with him on behalf of local charities in Naples, FL. I had already resolved that he was an intelligent, accomplished and caring individual. What surprised me when I needed legal help, was that this man who serves throughout our community with the heart of a teddy bear, shows up in legal matters with the spirit and commanding presence of a lion! His confidence is infectious and reassuring while going through the process. Chris is a winning attorney who is respected as a lawyer throughout Naples for his excellent track record and great ability for communication. He had the fortitude to represent the facts and the law in such a way that even the opposing side could not help but to agree. He is clearly passionate about the law, standing up for what is right and for the use of common sense. It would be difficult to choose one word to describe Chris Lombardo to you, but the word FERVOR came to mind in recollecting the way he spoke with me and on my behalf: “Great warmth and earnestness of feeling; passion; zeal: to defend a cause with fervor”. You will find that both he AND his team at Woodward Pires and Lombardo are everything you would imagine and could ever expect in a law firm. I give him my highest praise and deepest gratitude. If you are familiar with the famous “Lion and Serpent” Sculpture by Antoine-Louis Barye, then you will understand what kind of attorney Christopher Lombardo is. If you are not familiar, I invite you to Google it so you can see the image I see, when I speak of Chris. I strongly recommend using his services.

Chris worked diligently for me throughout my divorce. I could not have asked for a better lawyer or law firm to represent me. He works tirelessly for his clients and always kept me informed of everything that he was working on for me. He is very knowledgeable and will fight for what is fair. As a person he is one of the kindest human beings you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. He made some of the most difficult times in my life bearable because he treated me with kindness and understanding and not like just someone who was a paycheck for him. He talks to you and listens to what you have to say. If you ever need a lawyer I definitely recommend Chris Lombardo. He is the absolute best.

I wanted to articulate my experience with Christopher Lombardo who has literally been my savior thanks to his skill sets which are second to none. I first hired a female attorney who I believed would be able to relate to me as another woman and exude compassion and empathy with respect to my situation which was as bad as it gets. As I was going through the divorce, I discovered that she did not have the requisite financial skills to protect me financially. Her discovery was inadequate and hurt me significantly for my financial future. I was being harassed by my ex and my attorney advised me to do nothing about it. I made the decision to leave the first attorney because I felt that she was not adequately representing me. I then secured another female attorney with the primary charge of selling my home and ensuring that I be reimbursed for my legal fees as per a court stipulation. My ex refused to reimburse the legal fees. The second attorney was working on going back to court to get my legal fees and in the process, my ex filed a Motion for a Special Magistrate to sell the marital home. Her legal representation was so inferior that she ended up getting sued personally. She was incompetent and had a chip on her shoulder in regards to me. And to make matters worse, she made derogatory comments to me. In addition, the legal fees she charged me were excessive. I knew that I had to change course because nothing positive was being accomplished. So, I had a friend help me research other attorneys. Our selection made was Christopher Lombardo. I am pleased to say that Mr. Lombardo competently, and rigorously took on my matters with a sense of urgency. The marital house was finally sold after he was able to talk sense to my ex's attorney. Chris is as savvy as they come, has many years of experience and knows how to negotiate with other attorneys without running up huge bills. He has always treated me with the utmost of kindness and respect. Without his expertise, I know that I would still be trying to navigate a deal and would have been forced to frivolously spend another $40,000. Quite simply, he is the best attorney I have ever used. In addition his team members including Rebecca Wade and Scott Pauzer were extremely helpful and prompt when dealing with my issues. I would strongly recommend Mr. Lombardo to anyone who is dealing with divorce matters.

We found this law firm through family friends, as I needed representation in a high-conflict custody situation to advocate for my children. In the past, we had been held hostage through litigation with no representation. Mr. Lombardo's confidence is reassuring, and he is capable, and determined to do what is right for their well being. He and his staff are prepared and attentive. I'm ever-so-grateful our friends guided us to a great legal team that is tenacious in representing the best interests of my children.

Sued a former employee who embezzled from me and the bank who cashed the checks. He recovered ALL of my lost money. I have heard many attorneys who said they hated to oppose Mr. Cohn

Mark helped me navigate an issue whereby my employer terminated me while we had a contract. Mark advocated for me, and while we are still in litigation, has been able to extract some powerful evidence for my case. I'm confident in his ability to provide a favorable outcome.

Alan was involved for nine months in my real estate dispute which took over two years to conclude. He joined with his partner Michelle Hurvitz who had been leading the case since it began. Because of Covid I was not able to meet Alan in person, but it really didn't matter. His dedication and compassion were readily apparent by phone and zoom, and I immediately trusted his integrity and outstanding legal skills and judgement. He worked smoothly with Michelle to move my case to a successful verdict (We won!). They communicate openly and honestly and hone each other's thinking. I've taught executive teamwork in many companies and countries, and these two, Hamisch and Hurvitz, are the real deal.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Naples, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
