Sued a former employee who embezzled from me and the bank who cashed the checks. He recovered ALL of my lost money. I have heard many attorneys who said they hated to oppose Mr. Cohn

Mark helped me navigate an issue whereby my employer terminated me while we had a contract. Mark advocated for me, and while we are still in litigation, has been able to extract some powerful evidence for my case. I'm confident in his ability to provide a favorable outcome.

Attorney Kerlek sets the example for very skilled and efficient litigation, and I would definitely recommend her counsel to anyone seeking to resolve a trust ssue. I found myself in a very contentious and complex situation, and Rachel quickly strategized negotiation specifics with the opposing side, and she prevailed in my favor. One of my other attorneys even expressed his amazement at her speed and expertise in settling the magnitude of challenges that I faced. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

I first was put into contact with Mr. Rich by my lawyer in Indiana in 2016. My younger brother had passed away unexpectedly and I was the appointed executor of his estate. He owned property in Florida that either needed to be sold or transferred to me. As there were two other siblings involved from other states, it became a little more complicated. Mr. Rich was able to get all things sorted out to everyone’s satisfaction. In 2020 my husband, myself and my in-laws got involved with the purchase of a “time share” in Florida. It involved a large corporation with resorts all over the United States. As time went on, we realized we were not getting what was promised to us. We wanted out of the contract, but of course they said that was not possible. I contacted Mr Rich again to see if we had any way out. After he heard everything that was promised and what we actually were getting he took our case. We won! I have worked now with Mr. Rich on two occasions. Neither of these cases were large, but I always felt he always worked his hardest to obtain a good outcome for me. He is very knowledgeable, very approachable, honest and tenacious. I highly recommend him and would not hesitate to call upon him again should the need arise.

Mr. Rich is an excellent litigator. He is an expert attorney who is a detail-oriented, in-depth, and thoughtful legal researcher. His is conversant with current case law and his case preparation and hearing performances have been exceptional. He has filed paperwork and findings efficiently and promptly, in addition to thoroughly exploring all legal avenues and tailoring the approaches selected to meet the needs of my case. Both compassionate and professional, he found creative solutions to complex matters and cases that supported the issues involved in my dispute. His legal expertise is demonstrated by his intelligence and excellent communication skills. He is an outstanding and persuasive negotiator who is tenacious, articulate, and well informed. At all times during my case, he has been very responsive to me and looked after my best interests. He returns phone calls and emails promptly, often on weekends. He is an honest and client-focused attorney who is patient, informative, professional, and kind. I would recommend him for any legal matter.

Like most people we have had both good and bad experiences with Attorneys. Todd Rich answered a 1/2 million dollar suit brought against us and drafted a counter suit that was lawyering beyond words. result was we won by the plaintiff dismissing the suit entirely and with prejdudice to boot.

Scott Rowland provided great service while representing me in a recent court case. He was always prepared and kept me abreast of my case and what was expected of me. I have heard there are attorneys who will promise you everything to take your case. Mr. Rowland never promised we'd win, he did promise me he would fight hard for my interests. In the end he did exactly that. I would definitely retain his services again. BTW, his staff does an awesome job of making you feel at ease and always forwarded my concerns immediately to Mr. Rowland if he was in a meeting. Great customer service!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Naples, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
