Kevyn is an incredible resource in times of family and marital turmoil. I'm grateful to have found and worked with her to amicably and positively resolve an immensely challenging family situation. Through the ups, downs, and many unknowns, her counsel was consistent, calm (even when her client was not...), well reasoned, and just immensely valuable. Can't recommend Kevyn highly enough. I have worked with numerous attorneys in personal and business life, but have never left a review and feedback like this.

I would like to share my recent experience with Kevyn Noonan-Hayes, if you have found her website you will not do better! I appointed a lawyer in West Palm Beach to handle my Divorce, with the belief they would help me and support me and do the very best for me . How wrong I was, it was an awful experience when you need help the most . Kevyn took over my case and my whole experience changed to one of action, support and professionalism. Her charges were half the cost of my initial lawyer, but double the value ! She carried my case into court within weeks, finalizing the financial settlement swiftly and accurately. Kevyn Noonan-Hayes has restored my faith and confidence in working with lawyers and shows authenticity in all she does and says . Thankyou Kevyn .

I was referred to Kevyn by a dear friend & fellow attorney and I am so grateful for that recommendation! She has been overly supportive & empathetic through my entire case. I hired Kevyn to help me not only with a custody case but also for her guidance with a criminal case as well. At all times I felt that myself and my daughter’s best interests were kept in mind. Kevyn helped me navigate through the scariest time of my life, providing comfort & expertise in all areas of my case. I appreciate her always speaking to me in terms I could understand & being prompt with any of my inquiries. I would recommend Kevyn to anyone in need of a family attorney. As my case is not fully complete I take comfort in knowing I have Kevyn fighting for me & my daughter.

When faced with the heavy reality of divorce, the choice of an attorney can make all the difference. I was fortunate enough to have Kevyn as I navigated through my divorce, and her services were nothing short of remarkable. From the moment I walked through the door of her office, I knew I was in capable and caring hands. Kevyn's attention to detail was evident in every interaction. Divorce proceedings are complex and can carry a lot of emotional weight, but Kevyn's thoroughness ensured that nothing was overlooked. This level of detail provided me with a sense of security. What truly sets Kevyn apart, is her genuine care for her clients. It's one thing to be a skilled attorney; it's another to be a compassionate human being who recognizes the emotional weight of divorce. Communication with Kevyn was always open and transparent. She kept me informed in every stage of the process ensuring that I was aware of my options of each decision. Her ability to explain complex legal jargon in understandable terms was invaluable. It's clear that Kevyn prioritizes her clients' understanding and peace of mind. In terms of outcomes, Kevyn's adept negotiation skills led to a resolution that was fair and favorable. Her proactive stance on tackling issues head-on resulted in a smoother process than I had anticipated, and for that, I am deeply thankful. Mark helped me navigate an issue whereby my employer terminated me while we had a contract. Mark advocated for me, and while we are still in litigation, has been able to extract some powerful evidence for my case. I'm confident in his ability to provide a favorable outcome.

Alan was involved for nine months in my real estate dispute which took over two years to conclude. He joined with his partner Michelle Hurvitz who had been leading the case since it began. Because of Covid I was not able to meet Alan in person, but it really didn't matter. His dedication and compassion were readily apparent by phone and zoom, and I immediately trusted his integrity and outstanding legal skills and judgement. He worked smoothly with Michelle to move my case to a successful verdict (We won!). They communicate openly and honestly and hone each other's thinking. I've taught executive teamwork in many companies and countries, and these two, Hamisch and Hurvitz, are the real deal.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Naples, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
