Update: Added one star as they refunded me half my money. Thomas is sharp and competent. The rest? No. Beware. This may be long, but people have the right to full transparency, a thorough review amongst the fakes (my review was taken down so reposting) and this is based on my experience and a brutal court experience. I now live out of state and would have done a better job calling around to different lawyers if I was local.
I hired them in November for a civil matter. I hired Melissa Vickers. She told me she would fight hard.
A few weeks later, I was informed Melissa is quitting the firm.
The office manager, Jessica Travis, and new attorney that I was assigned Chad Seibel spoke to me. They didn't know anything about my case but assured me it would be picked up where we left off. They then informed me the fee would go from what was already agreed upon to an increase of 1500 dollars. This was justified by Chad's experience and years of schooling (more on this later). This made zero sense to me as why am I suddenly charged an extra 1500 dollars because my original lawyer left this firm? After a few minutes, Chad agreed to keep the original fee, agreed upon by this firm, a month ago.
Let's put all the above aside... focusing on my case. I submitted the requested documents on Dec 8th. They were due by Dec 27th. I was almost 2.5 weeks ahead of time. On Dec 27th, suddenly, I need to sign docs, fill out forms, and more. Still, at this point, there was no discussion around my case. I kept being told we would discuss in the future and not to worry. The court date was Jan 11th. On Jan 8th, I was told I'd receive an update via text on January 9th. I received nothing. I had to again, call and email, to ask what was going on. On January 10th, at 6pm, while I'm driving on a 10 hour trip, I received a call from Chad to discuss.
January 11th comes. The hearing was at 9:45. At 9:58, he then informs me the opposing side is presenting a witness. I am not sure why he was unaware of this prior. He claims he only had 3 days notice and is busy, has a newborn, etc. Well, I was given negative 13 minutes notice.
Long story short... we are in court. He seemed really unprepared. The opposing councel, who I warned him I dealt with before in small claims court and would use case law and is aggressive, was so prepared. She was doing a great job. Chad was fumbling around. Barely threw any objections. Long pauses and awkward silence. Numerous times, I had to whisper to him things. He was just sitting there dozing off. He messed up dates to the point that even the witness got snippy with him and said, "What are you talking about?"
I provided him case law to use. He didn't use it.
I knew about halfway through we were going to lose. On closing arguments, the opposing counsel had everyone's attention. Everyone behind the judge was laser focused on her. She is throwing out case law and just going on and on, crushing it. When it was Chad's turn, he fumbled around, had long pauses / messed up his speech, and was disorganized in his argument. It was so bad the woman behind the judge starts playing with her cell phone and the judge himself, two times, starts speaking to the court reporter, not even paying attention to him. Of course... we lost. I was prepared for it about 20 minutes prior. He didn't seem focused at all and could not coherently speak at times.
I am not mad we lost. It has miminal impact on me. I am mad at the lack of communication. I am upset at my original lawyer quitting the firm a few weeks prior to the case. I am mostly disappointed in my lawyers skills, lack of preparation, and performance. I actually felt embarrassed for him, and I have a feeling everyone else in the courtroom did as well. The amount of long pauses and him having to reference his notes while having no idea what to ask or how to proceed was awkward. I could see the judge getting visibly frustrated. Everyone was. This case was easily winnable, so perhaps he was overconfident, so didn't prepare?
Interview hard before hiring.

Top notch. Very, very pleased. Chad Seibel and Erika Barbosa teamed up to work not only making a frivolous civil case confidential, but success was also achieved with a successful representation by Chad in countering a twisted nefarious bad faith attempt by the opposing party to object to an order making the original case (a dismissed case at that) confidential. They achieved something that many attorneys on the Internet on various websites claimed cannot be done – making a civil case confidential. I had a very good attorney once tell me its a tough thing to do as well. The truth is it can be done. Fighter Law has the savviness within this scope especially to get it done if you have a need to make a civil case confidential. Best of all, they protected that initial win by countering the opposing party’s bad faith objection.
I want to thank Erika especially for her empathy. When that latest surprise happened, Erika immediately reached out to me. She empathized and she said “We will not abandon you and leave you hanging. We have your back” and they absolutely had my back. She is very diligent as well. Excellent communicator. When there was a case update, she ensured I had the information timely and that was critical to the progression of getting through this. She also told me what to expect and was right on the money.
Chad represented me at a re-hearing and was on point. He knew the law, its nuances. He executed and quickly countered the opposing party’s arguments and that was critical to the judge’s decision to ensure the original order rightfully remained in place.
After the hearing, Chad took the time to explain everything to me. He explained the laws to me, its nuances, and I really appreciated that. Additionally, Chad is a very empathetic and caring person as well. He has a high level of integrity and he looks to do what is right.
Note: I had to delete and re-post this review with the latest update because Google would not enable me to post two reviews.
Below was my original review from May 2024:
Excellent end result. I cannot express enough gratitude for the outstanding work done by Erika Barbosa and Chad Seibel at Fighter Law. They were instrumental in achieving what many deemed either difficult to do or impossible. However, they got it done. Chad and Erika's dedication, knowledge, and strategic approach were truly remarkable. Thanks to their efforts, we were able to ultimately achieve the desired outcome. I highly recommend Erika and Chad to anyone seeking exceptional legal representation. They are true professionals who will get it done.

Brent and Jessica walked me through every scenario of what could happen with case brought against me and listened to every item I brought to evidence even if it couldn’t be used in court. After 3 months of petitioners and their attorney dragging things out Brent still continued to show up in court with everything we needed to win. I felt like he was really involved in making sure my family and myself felt comfortable and safe through entire process. I will be reaching back out to this firm in the future if any other issues arise.

Sorry but Brent struck me and my son wrong right off the back, absolutely basically said my son had no chance, instead of saying we are fight lawyers and we getting more into a good conversation...the case is a easy 20 to 30,000 case and to just throw that kind of money to someone who absolutely 💯 had nothing but all negative things to say...here's Brent's text even apologizing,we'll if you can't be professional, then maybe you need a different career 😉
We may very well be able to get the state to amend or come down just based on the facts of the traffic stop. My legal mind is too logical, so I apologize if my analysis came off as offensive. I totally disagree with the state and I fight like hell for my trafficking clients. I have numerous trafficking cases in Seminole County right now where we are fighting like hell right now. I would love to fight for your son. I'm so sorry for the situation and I want the absolute best fro your son.

I would recommend Fighter Law to everyone! Specifically Tom, Rocky, and Zain. Since I called them they have given me nothing but good news, helpful advice, and a solution to the problems I’ve been having. Zain got my information and immediately transferred me to Tom so we can get started. They’re caring and also ready to fight for you and get what you need. I appreciate their concern with my case and future.
