I hired Mr. Gunter to represent me in a civil matter. He did not have any sort of strategy to win the case, not even to rebut likely avenues the other side was likely to pursue. He would not get depositions from the other side, though the other side deposed me and my witness. He did not want to introduce evidence that the other side was not honest, and his cross examinations mainly consisted of repeating questions the opposing lawyer asked, giving the other side the opportunity to repeat their denials. He even repeatedly whispered to me at one point that my witness had impeached himself when in fact he hadn't. The hearing was in a small room and I have no doubt the other side and perhaps even the judge heard him. The opposing attorney even pressed the issue on cross examination. Mr. Gunter is a friend of the opposing lawyer's family and perhaps that colored his judgment, but regardless, he did not serve my interests.

I hired Matthew Gunter for my Husbands violation of probation charge. When I tell you this case was serious, you have no idea. My husband violated and with this opened up about 8 charges he was looking at. Prosecution first tried to give him something like 12 YEARS. Attorney Gunter didn't let that happen and thankfully got my husband an "ideal" sentence with NO prison time. I still am in shock that he was able to do this. He has a great relationship with the state and I HIGHLY recommend him for criminal defense of your case. He is quiet and polite but don't let that fool you....he gets amazing results and keeps you updated at all times and makes sure your never in the dark about your case. Mr. Gunter is an excellent attorney. I had a grand theft charge in orange county in the state of Florida. I was looking at a felony conviction and up to five years in jail. I live in the state of Pennsylvania, which I knew was going to possibly create problems being it is a thousand mile trip back and forth. I have interviewed several attorneys and did not like different things about them. Then I went to Katz and Phillips. There was something about the attitude and demeanor of the people in this office I liked. I felt like I could trust them and that they were going to look out for my best interest. Shortly after the interview I hired on the team and almost immediately they went to work for me. Mr. Gunter fought for me until the very end and got me a deal I could not refuse. I was given 18 months probation (no jail time) and was able to get my record cleared after the probation was met. He was also able to allow me to continue living in Pennsylvania during the duration of the probation. During the course of the probation Mr. Gunter was always available to talk to and answered any questions I had. I never had to wait long for a return phone call or email. This to me is extremely important in an attorney. I can be a little annoying because I have never been in trouble before and had no idea what to expect. Matt Gunter cleared up any concerns I had and made me feel comfortable the entire time. Finally, I'm at the day where I was able to be released at my half way mark from probation and immediately Mr. Gunter filed the motion for this to happen. Within 1 week the judge released me and this nightmare is finally behind me. All of this could not have happened if it wasn't for Matt Gunter. He is always professional and never misses a beat when it comes to taking care of his clients. The old saying for Florida is "Go on vacation leave on probation"...while that may or may not be true, if you do get into any trouble in Florida I recommend Katz and Phillips law firm and especially Matthew Gunter.

I was arrested for DUI with Refusal to Submit to Tests/Procedures after my wife and I were out one night. I didn't know where to turn because I've never been in a situation like this. As soon as I was home from the uncomfortable night at the jail I researched what I should do. I called a few referenced lawyers from friends and family, but I decided to call around others that I found myself. Matthew was willing to meet and discuss my options within 2 hours of calling.
