West Family Law Group is exceptional. Richard West, Adam Sackrin and their paralegal, Karen Strong, are all top notch. I have spent over two decades of my career working actively with attorneys of varying specialties (thus, have a high bar), and this is the first time I felt a review was appropriate. They navigated an abnormal situation and troublesome attorney on the other side with ease.

Totally agree with the other user's posting on July 4, 2021. I hired him in 2019/2020. He claimed he's an expert on divorce finance, but in fact Not. I knew I had the correct date for my marital asset date. I explained it to him. He acknowledged, then turned around still used the wrong date in his mind. This caused at least 5 figure disadvantage to me. Another issue: I asked him to split children's uncovered medical expenses based on income as FL law states. Somehow, he agreed to 50/50 split which I didn't agree all the way. When I brought it up after the final judgement came, he essentially told me to suck it up. What a joke! Looking back, there were a few things he should've handled better instead of spending hours on so that he could charge his time and bill me. Later I learned that he has a reputation among lawyers in the area that he sticks to whatever he thinks is right, not necessarily the client's best interest. Please check around before hiring him!

This attorney represented me in 2015/2016 and I had to do much of my own research on some complicated corporate benefits matters. In at least one scenario he advised me incorrectly. He did not advise me accurately about possible outcomes and made initial promises that could never have been kept.

I began my process with a different attorney. After being told something incorrect and then having this attorney deny having ever said it, I turned to Richard West. Richard guided me through what is by all accounts one of the worst experiences one can have in a lifetime. He was honest, forthcoming with all facts, no nonsense, smart and knowledgeable in all aspects of the law, not afraid of hard work when it came to depositions and follow up to the depositions and in general gave me good advice throughout. I always felt like I was in good hands. In the end, I felt like we ended with a win/win situation, one which I believe will allow both parties to move forward with their lives.

When I retained the West Law Group, my divorce had been lingering for 1.5 years with 3 previous attorneys. Shane Herbert quickly got up to speed on the case and my divorce was final with months of hiring them. Shane did an excellent job with my case. He was personable and very responsive. Although I know I wasn't his only client, the attention he showed me made me feel like I was. The settlement he negotiated was extremely better then what the previous attorneys could accomplish. I also met Richard West and had a chance to speak with him. He is also personable and extremely knowledgably. I'm awesomely satisfied with my experience with the West Family Law Group. Also a shout out to their staff, Moutie and Teresa, who were excellent as well.

I highly recommend Richard West. He handled my divorce in 2006 using Collaborative Law. This process was most effective and efficient. I found Richard to be extremely professional and also compassionate. He is highly respected by his peers and works well with them.

I would strongly recommend Richard West. What I appreciated about Richard was his ability to clearly develop, articulate and implement a strategy. He also was very skilled at cutting through the unproductive emotion or periphery issues I would raise. That in the end saved, time, money and was always the right call. I also was struck by the deep respect he was given by opposing counsel and that cannot be underestimated. I sensed that respect enhanced the willingness of the opposition to be reasonable or even eager to work with us, when weighing the likelihood of their success, should they to square off with Richard in the court room. There were at least two occasions, in trying to create a "David and Goliath" scenario, different opposing counsel commented on how I had hired the best lawyer available!

Richard represented me with my marriage dissolution proceedings five years ago and continues to be involved in related matters. He is one of the most kowlegeable and competent attorneys I have met, always taking into consideration not only the economic aspect of the equation, but the emotional impact of the process on both sides, which is conducive not only to the successful financial terms of the dissolution agreement, but to the emotional wellbeing of both parties that inevitably will interact together in future family concerns or dissolution related matters. Richard is trustworthy, experienced, and a pleasure to work with within an adversarial situation.

i was recommended to richard west law firm after i got divorced and had a terrible experience with a different attorney. There were multiple pending issues includinf child custody as well as financial matters. I was given excellent initial advice by Richard regarding these issues. He clearly explained the existing law regarding these issues and explained to me the realistic expectations. He mediated most of the issues and the ones that could not be mediated, he fought in court. I have the highest regard for Richard as an excellent attorney who will go the extra mile to help you out.
