When calling M & M to see if we have a case for medical negligence, malpractice, personal injury, whatever legal term could be used for what happened to my mother at Mease Countryside hospital it was extremely hard to understand the people answering the phone. After explaining just a small amount of info we were told they couldn't help us. When we asked if Bay Care had them on retainer the woman said yes. If this is in fact true then we should have been told BEFORE giving any info on our potential case. If it was a miscommunication due to the language barrier then I would suggest this firm have their employees be able to communicate better. Apparently my mother's potential case isn't enough of a payday for this firm.

They are fighters like Mayweather... They just select the easy cases... Don't trust them... get another lawyer...

They faked reviews here to drown out the poor ones. This facility used to have a 2.3 until the last few months. This law firm does not handle your case in a personal manner whatsoever. There are plenty of good personal injury attorneys in Pinellas county. Avoid these people like the plague. Morgan and Morgan as a whole is largely a bad choice. Impersonal, over worked staff engaging with clients sparingly. For evidence, search the reviews in order from “Newest”. You’ll see the pattern of recent negative ones, a lot of five star ones, and then a slew of really poor ones prior to them doctoring their review scores.

I engaged Morgan & Morgan in November of 2020 for an accident involving a rear end collision where I was injured. I was assigned a case manager and given document to formalize the engagement . I was told that if the case settled before going to court their fee is 33% of what ever is recovered. If the case had to go to court the fee changes to 40%. I was also told the process that was involved which included the final demand letter to allow a "last chance" for settlement before trial. What I was not told was once a lawsuit is filed you are in Litigation and the settlement at that point does not apply. Honestly , I did sign a letter to file the lawsuit, but there was nothing to explain that any settlement thereafter is litigation and at the 40% rate without going to court . Therefore my first complaint is one of communication. The Second is a bit more serious, my case manager in providing the text of the final demand letter made an error in the settlement amount he sent to me for signature. When I called it to his attention he claimed it was a computer glitch. I received the second letter partially corrected but with the same error in the amount. The third problem related to me requesting copies of the bills submitted by Medical. The case manage asked me why I was requesting them and when I told him he became upset and began to raise his voice. This conduct is unprofessional and unacceptable. Finally, the Morgan and Morgan charged additional fees of $3845 above their 40% fee as follows: LESS COSTS: Medical Records $1,096.03 Postage & Shipping $39.11 Police Reports $12.00 Docufree Postage $0.71 Docufree Print $0.75 Print - Black and White $26.50 MCP Expense - Regular Client Cost AR $1,750.00(No explanation). Print - Color $0.50 Filing Fees $415.00 Process Service $95.00 Interest Expense $410.23 Pay close attention to interest costs? For over 18 months this firm held $16,700 of my money for over a year with no interest paid to me. They then charged me $410.23 in interest for the above charges that they paid during an 8 month period. I am being charged $3,845.83 in additional fees without a copy of any of the invoices, which I requested. The message here is my experience was not very good . I have dealt with many attorneys in my profession career and maybe my expectations were too high, however that is no excuse for what appears to be just a money grab ( Charges for 50 cents, 75 cents and 71 cents ?). Beware, Morgan & Morgan for the people is their slogan . In my opinion it should be Morgan & Morgan for John Morgan. A smaller firm may be a lot easier to deal with, a lot faster with better communication than this factory. I am still waiting for an accurate closing statement after 6 weeks. True, I settled, I never saw their court room expertise. But whatever it is , in my opinion it's not worth it. Update 9/16/2022 The phone number in the response to my post is the Client experience number. Once called it goes to voice mail and no one has called back regarding this post. The case manager and my assigned Attorney has informed me that in order to prepare the closing statement they must pay a $208 bill from an imaging service or hold the amount in escrow. The imaging service claims that this is not a bill, it's an account statement and I have nothing outstanding because it is being submitted to insurance. Their comment was "Your attorney should have know this". Final update 9/27/2022 I finally got the correct closing statement and I am told it takes 2 weeks to get a check out of Morgan and Morgan. This translates into approximately 2 years to get a settlement with no court. If this actually had gone court my estate would probably have had to take payment because I would have died of old age.

After telling my story to at least three different people, the last person, who does not work in the legal field, decided that Morgan & Morgan wouldn't make enough money on my case so they refused it. So much for helping the little guy.
