Review specific to my experience for an amicable divorce with no kids - Active Duty Military. This may have been an isolated incident and not reflective of the firm. The following summation can be presented via scanned email documents and is not intended to be slander or prevent you from retaining them---in case they sue me. I had a very reputable and credible individual recommend Ms. Keene for family law, mentioning she was a "bulldog" and all but assuring me a timely and favorable resolution. My initial phone consultation with her(which was also the last time I spoke with her, despite asking for in-person and/or phone appointments) went well and had me feeling optimistic. As such, I decided to retain her. 4+ months and $8350.00 later. Filed Affidavit of Witness. I was nothing but timely, accurate, accommodating, and professional. Often calling to confirm receipt and access. Our entire dialogue, was never in person or over the phone, and was sent via scanned emails from the paralegals and administrative staff at the firm. In the event they are too busy to handle new clients, that wasn't mentioned. Each of my items of correspondence were either ignored, responded to after lengthy periods of time, were unprofessional, inaccurate (names, dates, financials), or in some cases, blatantly rude. I understand there is no hard requirement for bedside manner, but people going through one of the most difficult times in their lives should at the very least be entitled to professionalism and an attentive staff. If this review wasn't clear to my experience, I opted to forgo the time, effort, and money I invested in the process in favor of a different attorney.

Not sure how the experience is for people who are actually seen, but after already making an appointment, my family member was denied representation and rudely told to leave by one of the paralegal associates due to one of the attorney's conflicts of interest. A simple, polite no would have done for someone going through an already stressful separation.

When paying for legal advice, you want to make sure you pay for good advice. Laura Keene is honest, fair, and professional. I feel like she gives clients a good value because she knows the law so well and adequately prepares her clients for what to expect from the legal system. She doesn't coddle or encourage you to waste legal fees with unnecessary issues. When you're being dramatic, she will tell you. When you need to focus on what's most important she will help make those decisions real clear. She and her staff are thorough, work well as a team, and do not waste time or money. Hiring Laura Keene was the best decision in closing out a very difficult chapter of my life.
