Dorian is truly a earth angel..She took out her time to give me information and resources to help my son with his appeal with disability..I never felt rushed and she took her time to answer questions and even talked about the history of the firm and it was definitely a WOW factor that gave me clarity of the care and compassion and help with getting my son to a doctor that I would have never known that there was even help out there like there is even after months on the phone calling everywhere possible to try and get help with medical because he was denied Medicaid and the most amazing šŸ˜ part is my son is type 1 diabetic and when I asked her if she had experience with type 1 diabetes she said YES...I am beyond blessed beyond words I reached out to this firm.. I highly recommend this place it's more than just finding a lawyer it's the care compassion and understanding and going above and beyond to get you the information you need šŸ’— thank you šŸ’• beyond words to Dorian and everyone at this firm..

If you only have a small amount of time to read this review, just know that Eric Sventek and his services are incredible and worth every penny!!!!!!!! He truly fights for you and is extremely knowledgeable about how you need to best prepare your case to win. The Paralegal and Legal Assistant, Dorian, (who reviews and works the files so that they are ready for a hearing) is also a saint and has always responded in a timely manner. By listening and working with them, I was able to win my rather complex case that I had been denied twice before by Social Security. I was awarded BOTH Social Security Disability AND SSI! It is without a doubt that I owe them for this otherwise impossible victory. I will be thanking them literally for the rest of my life. But as for the full story of my very difficult case where it felt like the UNIVERSE ITSELF wanted this case to fail… Initially, I applied for Social Security Disability on my own and waited around 8 Months before SSA actually assigned someone to START looking at my case (which, by the way, only happened after I had my Florida Representative contact SSA on my behalf). The individual that SSA first assigned me was rude, abrasive, and literally hung up on me multiple times, so it wasn’t a surprise when I was denied even though I had multiple doctors who had written letters stating that I was permanently disabled and incapable of self-support. Thus started the search for an attorney. Initially, my Social Security Disability case was taken on by one of those large seemingly effective attorney firms whose billboard ads are all around town, but they didn’t return my calls or contact me after weeks (likely due to my rare illness making the case too complex on second glance). I was then recommended to contact Eric P. Sventek at the Thomas Ueberschaer PA by a friend who had great success with them before. Eric contacted us back within a few days and, after looking over my extensive medical files, was certain he could win my case even with how difficult it would be. I was really relieved since I’d heard from others that most attorneys wouldn’t touch my case due to my complex illness, young age, education level, and the fact that I hadn’t filed until many years after first becoming disabled in the army. With every visit and conversation, it was clear that Eric and Dorian had remarkable preparation and reviewing skills, shocking me multiple times by how well they knew my medical records and the SSA system itself. They both kept me informed every step of the way, which gave me great peace of mind amidst this struggle. But Eric also proved to be extremely adaptable in the face of unavoidable complications. In my case, my SSA hearing was rescheduled TWICE. The 1st Time due to the judge needing to add more medical experts to the hearing and the 2nd Time due to one of the individuals in the hearing having a medical emergency. There were also a few other speed bumps that really made me wonder if this truly wasn’t meant to be and if I was just wasting everyone’s time. I even told Eric multiple times that, win or lose, I was beyond thankful for the insane amount of work he had already done for me. However, Eric remained committed and never once lost his unwavering support. Then the day of the hearing finally arrived… and Eric was absolutely brilliant! He had an exceptional strategy, was succinct, persuasive, and dealt with all doubts against me in a masterful way! (Which was doubly a relief for me since I have severe anxiety. If I hadn’t had his support, I probably wouldn’t have been able to say a single coherent word in my defense.) As a result, because of him, I finally won BOTH Social Security Disability AND SSI! It would have been impossible if not for Eric Sventek and his team. Again, thank you so much to Eric and Dorian. Their empathy and extreme amount of hard work has changed the lives of my family and I. I would recommend them to everyone who needs actual support and have been wrongfully denied so many times like I was!

My experience with the Penton Law Center has been very positive. My initial meeting with the firm was informative and not "pushy" at all. Christy takes a personal approach in all of her dealings regarding the sensitive topic of estate planning. She always responds quickly to my questions.

I write this review with pleasure. I have used this law firm several times and with total satisfaction. All involved, paralegals, front desk and especially my recent Attorney, Rylan Barnett were very friendly and professional. Rylan is hands on… he told me what he could do realistically and did exactly that . We discussed all decisions all along the way with a suit that could have gone to jury trial. My advice to all.. be well documented with your case and your results will be so much stronger in your favor. It’s amazing how once one retains the right Attourney … the defendant knows he’s up against something real… the key to this is having an attourney that understands your situation and willing to fight for you. Ryan is this person as all the Attourneys at this firm are. One thing that highly impressed me… I called a great life long friend of mine… he is a very successful attorney… This is who he recommended for me. It was a great and right choice. Also… no over billing … I was very pleased at my bottom line and final billing. Trust me as you may already know.. this is not always the case. I love that this firm is one stop shopping for most all my needs. Next I’ll be reaching out to produce my Will and get them more involved with business contacts, etc. Bottom line .. when people do what they say..produce good results within reason. They become my professional friends. Trust in life is everything… have an issue. Rylan will be up front with you. Highly recommend.

Ryan Barnett was, with no questions, all jokes aside, hands down, truly the greatest d attorney I've ever encountered. Very happy with his performance. And as very grateful, id also like to show my gratitude for another one of Ryan's co-workers, Mr. Brandon Clark. They will consistently go out of there way to update the status quo and inform you on the progress in my case, never had to call them once. Great job! If there were an option for more than 5 stars , these guys would, with no doubt, be rated easily a 7- 10 Thank you

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Pensacola, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
