I was referred to Gordon by a good friend of mine, and upon interviewing with Gordon I knew right away he was the person to represent me. Gordon is FOR his clients, and conducts business in a very straight forward manner. If your just wanting to hear some "feel good" stuff from an attorney who is simply after your money, then don't call Gordon. Gordon will be very honest with you, regarding your case, and represent you at the highest level. Gordon's extensive experience in family law, as well as his work ethic, provided a very positive outcome for my case. As such, I would highly recommend Gordon Welch.

Divorce in my opinion is the hardest experience in this life. Gordon guided me through this with strength, compassion and experience. I really appreciated his straightforward approach. I interviewed other lawyers and they just didnt feel right. He knew what steps to take with my case at a time when I just couldn't see what needed to be done. He crushed the opposing lawyer and got my children and I the appropriate deal. Of course I would recommend him and his teammate and wife. My ex even recommended him!

Gordon is a very well organized and knowledgeable attorney who will advocate for you and ensure you ethically get the best legal outcome both financially and in terms of litigation. He is sharp as a tack and has the memory of a computer. Do what he tells you to do, be transparent, honest, and the rest is in the magic of the relationships and legal knowledge he's built over the past decades of practicing law. Put Gordon on your team before your spouse does.

I wanted to write a review shortly after my divorce was complete but chose to “let sleeping dogs lie” and just get past the entire ordeal. Now here I am…2 years later and after the most recent event and interaction, I won’t stay quiet and am going to share my latest experience. My story is far too lengthy and there are many instances I can describe but I would prefer to address the most recent “insult to injury”. Therefore, take from it what you will.
Mr. Welch made countless bad decisions which impacted the financial outcome of my divorce with the final blow being experienced now (2 years later). He did not do his “due diligence” in addressing and ensuring benefits as a former spouse of a DOD employee which unfortunately, I am just now discovering. Evidently (and according to OPM), there is a handbook guide available for EVERY attorney dealing with the issues of government employees divorces. I can only surmise he CHOSE not to read it or elected to dismiss it. Either way, it’s neglectful or incompetent or both. It is infuriating to know we pay for someone’s “expertise” only to discover their poor and inadequate decisions impacts the client long after the divorce is finalized. Well done, Gordon…well done.
I would never recommend this man. EVER.

I hired Gordon Welch for my divorce case and it was the best decision I could of made at such a difficult time in my life! Even from my initial consultation it was clear to me how well versed he was in family law. He showed sympathy, knowledge, and professionalism. I can say without a doubt that Mr. Welch truly cared and fought his hardest to make sure I got the best possible results. And I will share that my divorce case did involve minor children.
I also appreciated Mr. Welch's honesty in working my case, he did not over charge nor bill me unnecessary fees. He was very clear on his fees and I quickly realized, he cost less than any family law attorney I had a consultation with in this area. I would encourage anyone who is looking for a tough family law attorney, who goes above and beyond for their clients, to give Gordon Welch a call!

Let me start off by saying mr Welch was a good attorney he was knowledgeable about laws but actually lacked the fire and drive and enthusiasm it took to press the other side, and that’s partly my fault I should have taken a firmer stance, from the outset we asked for majority custody which was denied by her side and I pretty much computated on the matter even though I was the one who stayed at home with the kids for years and made all the decisions when it came to them, and at any point I could have proved that and still can, the worse thing is we didn’t press them any harder on the matter and should have deposed the other side, from the very onset but didn’t. Then came mediation which in itself is bs if you ask me, it’s very much ran like buying a car but this time you have a negotiator going back and forth with the salesmen going back and forth to the financial manager they almost try and force you into a deal like a forced confession out of an innocent person, just so you can be done with the process for me it was my day to have the kids and I was getting time to pick them up and my lawyer really want to get a deal done even though I really wasn’t on board because to be quite honest with you it was at a point where I need to go get my kids from school so we actually wrapped it up as fast as possible towards the end and then when we got outside Mr. Welch asked me why I had such a long face and didn’t look satisfied, And it’s because I wasn’t and he knew that and then when I called him a couple days later he said to me it’s only natural to feel some sort of buyers remorse comparing my child custody case as like buying something I didn’t want and was now stuck with, it has eaten at me everyday since and I’m tired of it and want to take immediate action for my son and myself because the fact remains all the evidence or things we had to use on the mother wasn’t really even brought up and To most lawyers the deal I got was actually probably pretty good if you had to normal kids you couldn’t really ask for better in my opinion because again I can appreciate the 50-50 timesharing begin my case for unique because I have an autistic son that has depended on me, and still does, And to be quite honest with you when the DCF investigation happened even though they didn’t know where the injury occurred Mr. Welch should’ve actually filed an emergency hearing that would’ve granted me temporary majority custody until the conclusion was reached but that was never done because there are laws on the books to actually allow that, and to add one more thing one of the mediations comment before I left his mediation office was to my attorney Mr. Welch that he could very well see this current parenting planned getting petitioned to be modified in some way.

First off let me say I didn't hire Attorney Welch for reasons discussed later but felt so compelled to review based solely off of a consultation. I contacted him with a child custody matter that had a few complications. He was extraordinarily empathetic and thoughtful far beyond the few other attorneys I had spoken with the same day. I would have hired him in a second just based off his answers alone. But why I didn't speaks wonders to his ethics and honesty. The case would have been handled in a neighboring county but one in which he doesn't regularly practice in. But rather than talk himself up and take my money he informed me that he did not practice regularly in that county and that he probably wouldn't be best suited to take the case because he doesn't know the particulars of each judge like an attorney who practiced in that county would. This alone proves that he values adequate representation over money. I was already impressed before that based off his overall demeanor and responses. He could have easily said "yeah I can do that" and taken my money and I probably would have never known. However he didn't. What's more, even after realizing that he probably wasn't getting my money, he went as far as to refer me over to another attorney who did regularly practice there but only after some thought as to who would best handle the case. He said he would get back to me the next day which shows he put thought into it, without pay, rather than just refer to some random attorney to get me off his chest. And he followed up the next day as promised. All of this goes to show what type of attorney he is. When choosing an attorney you are often going in blind. You don't always know who to go with and who to trust. However if I ever had a matter where he practices I would know I could trust him. He got nothing out of this exchange but still did the right thing anyway even considering I would have never known had he chosen a less ethical route. I enthusiastically and unequivocally recommend Gordon Welch to anyone. I don't often write reviews unless there's an extraordinary bad experience but he earned this good review hands down.

Mr Gordon Welch is a highly knowledgeable divorce lawyer and skilled in details relating to military divorces. Starting with the initial interview before taking my case, he explained what would be required to comply with Florida laws, and after taking my case, he walked me through the time consuming and highly detailed paperwork. He provided me options and recommendations concerning those options relating to how the case would be handled. We discussed specific decisions that I had made and he provided recommendations on how to better approach those decisions before my final proposal on the division of assets. In an effort to keep my cost down, he was able to provide timely feedback and information through emails and phone calls, reducing in-person meetings to final paperwork reviews and briefings prior to the deposition and mediation.

I hired Mr. Welch in 2000 to represent me in a very nasty custody battle. I live in Indiana and my son lived in Pensacola with his mother. This man is the most thorough, most detail oriented lawyer I have ever dealt with. His in depth knowledge of family law, interstate compact laws, UCMJ regulations (if you are military), state law, etc. makes him the right man for the job. He represented me until my son turned 20 and got his GED down in FL. His mother constantly attacked me requesting more support, and unrealistic requests but Mr. Welch, more times than not, was able to deflect he attacks and minimize the damage she tried to inflict in my life. He is not the cheapest guy in town, but you get what you pay for. He and his wife Pat work tirelessly for their clients. I've been told I have the biggest file in their storage because they were there for me for 14 years! That is a long time to fight off and on in court but with his superior note taking skills he was always on top of my case. He kept me on the right side of the law, gave her enough rope to hang herself (my ex) when it was needed, and played it cool in front of the judge. I won most of the time because he was always better than her lawyer or the state's attorney. If I had tried to fight my ex from out of state, by myself, I would have probably been put in jail at one time or another for breaking a rule or something and I probably would have never got to meet my son. I never got in trouble under Mr. Welch's guidance and I actually won custody for 7 years (until he was old enough to move away) and I know that living with me made my son's life better. That wouldn't have happened without Mr. Welch dedicating his heart and soul to my case when I needed him the most. I would recommend Mr. Welch to anyone that asks. It's good to have a professional relationship that turns into friendship over the course of a decade or so. I wasn't just a client, I was like a brother that he didn't want to see chewed up and spit out by the system and he made sure that he didn't let that happen.
I have authorized Mr. Welch to use my case as an example of some of the trial and tribulations that a psychopath ex can try and do to a man along with the legal wrangling that Mr. Welch can do to put someone like that back in their place. By far, Mr. Welch is the best damn lawyer the South ever produced!
