I'm lucky enough to have Mr. Ortiz represent me in my SSDI case. I couldn't do it by myself in my current health condition. I am going to take and write a deserving great review for a hard working Attorney ...and staff! Not many people attend to the fact Nick is a Yale Graduate...and being a former "Yale" employee when Nick was going through his Undergraduate program, I can attest first hand that Yale is unbelievably "picky" who they let in! So...that being said I feel it's important to have also have a "smart" Attorney if he's out front arguing on my behalf.
Attorney Ortiz's staff is also very hard working and pleasant to work with. Mr. P

I really believe the only reason I won my Social Security case was because I switched attorneys and hired Mr. Ortiz. When I first decided to hire a lawyer, I made the mistake of going with a large local firm, where I feel like I was given the bare minimum needed to profit from my case with the least effort possible. I had no idea how my case was being approached to ensure that I would win my appeal; it seemed like there was no specific argument and that all my attorney was doing was refiling - something I could do on my own. I knew that my case was very difficult to prove given the nature of my disability, so I decided to do my own research online regarding SSD cases for people with mental illnesses. I was able to get an entire book (for free!) advising me on the subject, along with multiple articles on legal sites. Reading these sources made me feel like I needed an attorney who specialized in cases involving my disability; a simple Google search brought up Mr. Ortiz, who had stellar ratings and reviews everywhere I looked. On top of that, I realized that he was the author of the book and articles I had read on mental illness SSD cases! I called his office and was able to see him right away. During my (lengthy, as I was quite distraught about the state of my case) consultation, Mr. Ortiz did not rush me at all; he listened to all of my concerns, answered all of my questions, explained how he would approach my case specifically, and made me feel validated as a client. From then on, as Mr. Ortiz's client, I regularly corresponded with him and with Ms. Alicia in his office (she is very kind and patient) regarding the smallest of my concerns. They never made me feel like I was asking stupid questions or like I was bothering them, and all of my questions were answered immediately. I got regular updates regarding my case, and I always knew what to expect due to monthly letters from the firm. I am so thankful for Ms. Alicia and Mr. Ortiz, who not only helped me win my claim, but also allayed my fears more times than I can count throughout this stressful process. Bottom line: if you're appealing your Social Security Disability claim, you need an attorney - and if you want to win that claim and be treated like more than a quick dollar, you need to call the Ortiz firm.

This Thanksgiving I will be giving thanks to Nick Ortiz and Alicia. Mr. Ortiz is hands down the best attorney in his field. Before becoming completely disabled, I worked for an attorney for over 20 years. One of my main skills was research, and I have always been a perfectionist. Thus, when I became disabled, I looked for the best disability attorney. Mr. Ortiz definitely fit the bill. I contacted almost every disability attorney in the Pensacola and Mobile area. Not a single one of the offices I contacted would even set an appointment until after I had filed for disability on my own and received the letter of rejection. Mr. Ortiz was the only one who not only met with me, but filed the initial claim for me as well. He even answered the phone when I called for the first time.
Some of the other offices I contacted before Mr. Ortiz also said that they would not meet with me until I turned 50 years old, with the reason being that it was much more difficult to obtain a favorable Social Security ruling for anyone under 50 years old with my medical problems.
To illustrate what a great attorney Mr. Ortiz is, one needs only to look at my case and results he achieved.
I was 46 when the initial claim was filed. He not only obtained a favorable Social Security disability ruling for me, but he won without the need for a hearing! This was especially helpful because I will sometimes go up to a week with hardly being able to get out of bed, and my brain hardly works at all now.
He has a simple, but genius way of getting the medical information required to win your case. It is detailed in his free book "Top Ten Mistakes That Will Destroy Your Social Security Claim".
His advice was always spot on. I didn't follow it at first, and regret not doing so. When I initially saw him, I kept hoping that my doctors could find a way to make me well so that I could return to work. So I put off filing for several months, waiting to see different specialists. I only got worse as time progressed.
I have very limited time when I can think clearly, and so I have waited until those brief moments to write this review. It was very important to me to give the best review possible, since Mr. Ortiz and Alicia provided me with the absolute best representation.
I can never say thank you enough to them. My husband and I finally have some peace of mind knowing that we can now afford my medical care (we have gone through our savings and the ruling came at the perfect time).
One more thing: I take reviews very seriously and rely on them myself. It makes me sick when a buy a product on Amazon, and the company who produces/sold the product offers a bribe to write a good review. I can promise you that this review is truthful and heartfelt.
To sum up, if you are looking for a disability attorney, Nick Ortiz is your man.

Nick Ortiz is amazing! His compassion and knowledge are excellent. When he talks to you it is always honest and he treats you with respect. His staff is very much the same. The journey with disability is hurry up and wait, with the Ortiz law firm they give you peace of mind while your waiting. I would recommend them highly to anyone going through this aggravating experience. Thank you Nick and Alicia for all you have done for me!

Mr. Ortiz and the Soloway Team made me feel comfortable during my first meeting. They truly care for their clients and work hard to overcome the buracratic nuances of the Social Security Administration.
Although I was denied by SSA when I applied on my own, Mr. Ortiz was able to get my claim approved in less than five months.
I am forever grateful for your assistance and I recommend your services with no reservation.

I filed for my Social Security Disability in 2005 after an on the Job injury and I used an Attorney out of New York. The Attorney I had did not do a good job, I had to do all the work for him and I had to get all my records, etc, and was turned down in 2007, but then I found Nick Ortiz and he talked with me for a long time., He was very understanding and caring. Mr. Ortiz took my case in 2010 and i didn't have to worry about a thing. Mr Ortiz and his staff took care of everything. We went to court 8/2011. He won my case after 7 years. Mr Nick Ortiz made everything so easy and was able to help me and if I ever fine myself in need of an attorney again belive me it will be him he is an excellent attorney and I will recommend him and his staff.
