I'm not sure who left the 5 star reviews, but after retaining and employing william Bennet I believe they are family members and friends that were asked to leave them. Bill is unproductive and unprofessional. You have to press and press him before he actually files anything. Lacks communication with his clients, and either is to preoccupied to take notes or doesn't care to. I employed him for a family case and was very relieved to finish up the remainder of my retainer and employ another attorney

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with attorney Bennett. I was subpoenaed for two full consecutive days, yet not once was I called to testify. I spent both days waiting in a cold hallway, without any communication from the attorney, while dealing with my autoimmune diseases. During this time, I had to miss two full days of work from my two jobs, which resulted in lost wages. Additionally, I incurred expenses for parking and childcare for my two young children, ages 5 and 7. As a single mother who hustles to make ends meet, this situation was not only inconvenient but also financially burdensome. Furthermore, the subpoena was not even served to me directly. Other individuals had to give me the papers, which raises questions about the legality of the service. However, I complied to avoid being held in contempt of court. This experience highlighted a lack of consideration and respect for my time and circumstances. I urge others to seek legal representation from someone who values and respects the lives of others.

Mr. bennett and his entire staff are the quintessential litigator experts of Florida. It took me 7 years with 3 previous attorneys, to finally place my confidence and trust in the right firm to litigate my extensive post divorce proceedings. Mr. Benett is quick like lightning on his feet, and never fails to impress me Each and every time! His super extensive experience, knowledge and memory of case law that he integrates with every motion, hearing and trial, is mind blowing. Mr. Bennett and his staff are gracious, humble, and empathic like family members in their demeanor. Every case and every person is unique, snd they far exceeded my expectations. This is a dynamic unstoppable firm, if you need an excellent, extremely experienced and highly motivated attorney, to blow away the competition, Mr. bennett is your quintessential attorney of choice. You will honestly waste time seeking out other firms, who will bilk and charge you every single last dime in Your pocket. There are so many attorneys are fluff., smoke and mirrors. This man is the most ethical and honest man in the legal business. Don't let the stress of a contentious court case be burdened , by searching endlessly for the most assertive and well educated attorney in his field. He has never lost a single hearing we have attended. Always extremely prepared, well organized, well Spoken and conscientious. His ethics and standards of practice are higher than any other attorney I've ever met. I have met over 65 attorneys in my lifetime., and they all pale in comparison To Mr. Bennett and his entire firm. I will always be grateful and devoted to them for never letting me down. They are fierce and loyal. It's so refreshing to finally have met the firm that I should have had from the very beginning

These are words that best describe Danny. As soon as we started my case, his intelligence about criminal defense is second to none. He always made me confident about my case and in the end, he got my charges dropped! He is great in communicating throughout the entire process, getting back to you within minutes. I would definitely recommend Danny or anyone in the Clark Law group!

I hired Donnie recently in Pinellas County and I'm beyond grateful I did. He was proactive immediately after taking over my case. From the very beginning, he made me feel like he truly cared and wasn't in it just for the money. I remember Donnie told me, he'd fight for me 110% and thats exactly what he did!

I ran into a situation in Pinellas county. Hired him the next day or so. Yeah, it cost some money. Very much worth it. He totally gave me a worry free representation. I didn't even show up for a single court date. He conveyed what needed to be conveyed to whomever it needed to be conveyed to understand the dynamics of what was really going on in the case. And he won. Has the right legal foundation. Aggressive approach. Hard working. He has a complete network. Lot of years working with all of the different outfits that concern law in his area. Stop looking for any other attorney right now. You just hire this guy cuz I said so.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Saint Petersburg, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
