Ms. Mikolaitis was more than excellent. She saved me from being completely victimized by a person with no apparent character. I purchased a dog for breeding from a breeder in Florida. The dog's testicles did not descend. The breeder tried every trick in the book to avoid remedy for the unfit for purchase dog and Ms. Mikolaitis stopped every attempt. Ms. Mikolaitis was completely available to me, returning every call in a timely manner, she was completely competent and professional and stayed on top of every maneuver the breeder attempted to avoid remedy and there were many. I could not ever find the words to say what an excellent job she did in protecting my rights and keeping me informed. She protected me and saved me from the victimization that had already occurred. I more than highly recommend her to anyone that needs help in this area, to not be made a victim. She is the best in every way.

I called Justine pertaining to my landlord giving me a hard time concerning my prescribed ESA. Justine immediately took my case and went to work right away. Justine didn't waste a day working on my case and before I knew it she had collected all the documentation she needed to send to my landlord. Justine's sense of urgency made me feel like she was more than my attorney but also someone that actually cares for her clients. Whenever I texted her or called her she was always available. I'm very satisfied with her work and her fee is very reasonable. I definitely recommend her to anyone having an issue with their landlord or condo association pertaining to their ESA or service animal. She gets five stars from me. Thank you Justine.

A week before closing, I received a call from my agent that the Buyers were trying to cancel my real estate contract on a $450K deal, and wanted to offer me half the escrow deposit. I was sick over it. Justine reviewed the contract, advised me to deny the cancellation their agent was sending over and refuse to sign it. She mentored me to pursue mediation and/ or a lawsuit to enforce on a specific provision. The buyers backed down and went through with the contract. THANK YOU JUSTINE!!!!

Moved to Florida to be with my mother in the late stages of lung cancer. I brought my emotional support dog with me. I had to show the association my psychiatric letter, current rabies, all other inoculations that are required. I was being harassed by not only the residents but the Community Association Manager confronted me and started to scream that i should take my dog and walk him ONLY around my property. I stared back at her and recorded the entire conversation. The Fair Housing Act had to be enforced, I saw I was going to need an attorney because they hired an attorney. I went online to find an attorney who knows all the legalities pertaining to Emotional Support animals and rules and regulations of Associations. I was impressed with Justine's testimonials and decided to give her a call, Justine called me back 7pm on a Friday night. she asked me questions I never thought of. Long story short soon as I hired her , the harassment stopped. She returned every call in a reasonable amount of time. Apprised me of any new issues and always tackled it head on. I needed action the stress of my mother and this Association was giving me anxiety. 4 months after hiring Justine my worries were put to rest. I take my dog to the Dog park on the week ends and every few weeks I hear a horror story about an association I immediately recommend and pass along Justine's information. Because she's an expert. Justine brings Justice to your issue.

Justine devoted a significant portion of the last year to seek justice for my Buffy. She does right for the right reasons. While her website is a work in progress, I encourage all of you to visit her page and learn more about her. Justine comes most highly recommended by me

I hired Donnie recently in Pinellas County and I'm beyond grateful I did. He was proactive immediately after taking over my case. From the very beginning, he made me feel like he truly cared and wasn't in it just for the money. I remember Donnie told me, he'd fight for me 110% and thats exactly what he did!

We hired Donny recently and found him to be professional, very thorough, detailed, and expressed genuine concern for his client and the outcome of the case. In addition, he always returned calls, was dependable, and explained everything in detail. We are very pleased with his representation and results could not have been better. I ran into a situation in Pinellas county. Hired him the next day or so. Yeah, it cost some money. Very much worth it. He totally gave me a worry free representation. I didn't even show up for a single court date. He conveyed what needed to be conveyed to whomever it needed to be conveyed to understand the dynamics of what was really going on in the case. And he won. Has the right legal foundation. Aggressive approach. Hard working. He has a complete network. Lot of years working with all of the different outfits that concern law in his area. Stop looking for any other attorney right now. You just hire this guy cuz I said so.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Saint Petersburg, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
