My experience with Mr. Kowtko was very positive and my case was resolved to my advantage quickly and smoothly. I retained Mr. Kowtko to handle my relocation matter with my daughter from Orlando to Sarasota. Mr. Kowtko is extremely knowledgeable in family law and court proceeding. My first experience with a family law attorney occurred when I had to go to court with my ex-husband and found myself in the middle of a custody battle. This experience was extremely negative as I was always more scared and paranoid after talking to my then attorney than confident in his skills and trustworthiness. I should have listened to my intuition because he took the $4,000 retainer, gave me a ridiculously inflated itemized bill and did very little for me at the end. As a result, when I needed to contract legal services again I was very careful and skeptical; my experience with Mr. Kowtko helped me regain confidence in lawyers once again. He was always very informative, kept constant contact with me, kept me up to date and educated me about many court proceedings related to my case that I was completely unaware of and always discussed and advised me of possible outcomes upfront before I made any decisions related to my case. He was also very sensitive and considerate of the physical and emotional stress that I was going through at the time and helped me keep calm and confident throughout the entire process. If I ever need a family law attorney again, I will certainly hire Mr. Kowtko; if you are looking for a well prepared, affordable, trustworthy and aggressive attorney, I strongly recommend his services. I can't say enough about Matthew. He shows a strong interest in justice and advocating for creative solutions to challenging legal problems. His legal writing and oral advocacy skills are tremendous. He wrote helpful legal letters in order to advance non-adversarial solutions in my case, as well as drafted petitions that support family cohesion and togetherness. In other words, Matthew always has the best interests of the whole family foremost both in his mind and and with his advocacy. Matt can be direct and confrontative when the circumstances indicate. His knowledge of elder law, guardianship law, and family law is extensive and he is able to convey to clients in a clear and succinct manner the nitty-gritty details of applicable law. And to top it off, when we needed finally to attend and present at a court hearing, Matthew is so respectful of all parties, engages the judge in a manner both strong and direct, and has an uncanny ability to think on his feet. He is a natural, with superb courtroom skills, patience and excellent timing in presentation and advocacy. I most highly recommend Matthew Kowtko.

I first met Attorney Kowtko in June of 2014. I inquired about a noncontestant divorce. Matt (as I call him) was extremely professional, knowledgeable and assisted me with all the necessary steps needed to start the process. He followed up with phone calls and assisted with all necessary documents needed to successfully complete in a timely fashion. I then presented him with a QDRO which my husband and I were oblivious on the how to's etc. and this was new to Matt, but, not for long. He researched the companies that did this type of work and interviewed a few specialist before hiring the most competent one. While this QDRO proved (and til today) is a challenge...Matt, took on the challenge! I relied on Matt to handle both the non-contestant divorce and QDRO in a timely fashion since my husband was on a tight schedule to leave the country. Matt called me almost on a daily basis to keep me abreast of any new news regarding the process. I would and will without hesitation recommend Matt to family and friends who require his service(s.)
