My bankruptcy case was handled very professionally and pleasantly. It was expedited efficiently with one exception: at the last minute, a few days before my "court" hearing there was paperwork and documentation I needed to scramble to put together--things that, in my humble opinion, should have been requested along with all the other documentation weeks earlier. Other than that, Richard and his son, Brian, treated me courteously, knowledgeably, and professionally and the case was resolved satisfactorily.

My wife and i had a long road to get our BK done because of our previous failed Business. The courts gave us a hard time, but Mr Ellis and his Legal Assistant Carey fought for us. We didn't have to pay the courts any EXTRA. It may take some time, but the outcome will be in your favor the right way. Very professional and by the book.

Richard Ellis handled my long and difficult divorce. I had a lawyer who seemed confused by my case. I switched and Richard's expertise and experience gave me confidence and eased my anxiety. He responded to all of my questions with knowledge that came from his decades of practicing law.in Sarasota.
Richard was also there for me when I had a car accident. It so happened that the crash occurred at 32nd Street and US41, very close to his office. While I'm nervously talking to the police here comes Richard Ellis across the street to help me. My attorney on the spot.

Worst lawyer I have ever dealt with. Neither he nor his staff answers or returns phone calls for months on end. Be prepared to shuffle back and forth to his office to obtain any written information, as he will not spring for a stamp. Do not leave any important documents with him, as he lost mine. Mr. Ellis has very limited knowledge of bankruptcy laws. Once he takes your money, you will never hear from him again. Do not have any expectation that he will represent you in court. I had a "stranger" to represent me, who knew nothing about my case and showed up late.
