Ms. Nicholson is what you would want in an traffic attorney. Honest, direct, no nonsense, and skilled. She knows the courts and the judges as to how best to present a case. She does not give false hopes or tell you what you think you want to hear just to take your case. She is who you want within the Roanoke area and especially Botetourt County. These jurisdictions do not mess around, take your ticket or case seriously and get legal counsel. I would have made a big mistake if I had not. Highly recommend and would use again if needed.

I contacted the Law Office of James Steele after being charged with Reckless driving, doing 85 in a 65 speed zone. The staff was great and helped with the whole process. I was assigned to attorney Melissa Nicholson to handle my case. She worked real hard and did a super job of getting the reckless driving misdemeanor charge dropped to a defective equipment infraction, which is a non-moving violation with no points. Excellent human being/ outstanding lawyer. I have been dealing with a child support/ custody battle for 10 years now. In 2008, I was granted custody of my daughter by the court. Somehow, my daughter's mother ran away to a foreign country, thus making it impossible for me to have a relationship with my child, although she was aware that my daughter needed to be returned to me, her biological father. Meanwhile, she was still collecting child support until the court abated it. Although I followed the proper channels, filling all the necessary paperwork to have my daughter back, all my efforts were fruitless. In summer of 2015, I received an order from the child support office here in FL stating that they've received paperwork from the country where my child's mother has been hiding for 8 years now to collect child support on their behalf. After receiving that notice, saying that I was angry is an understatement. Robert Hannan was the only person that brought me back some type of peace. After our initial communication, he left me with these few words. He told me that: he can't promise me that the sun will rise tomorrow, and he can't promise that he will win, but the one thing he can promise me is that he will fight for me; not with me, but for me.
