When we moved to Florida we needed our will, trust, and other documents revised or replaced. Rep gave a free seminar on estate planning that laid out the various options and their consequences very clearly. We put together all the financial and other information he requested and then met with him. He encouraged us to ask questions and explore alternatives. He answered all of our questions carefully and thoroughly. He was very attentive to our needs and desires and suggested an approach that we were comfortable with. His suggestions were customized to our situation and we never felt he was offering a "one size fits all" approach. We decided to involve Rep in all of our future legal work and are confident that he will always act with our best interests in mind.

My purpose was to get information, and possibly hire, a well-known, experienced Elder Law Attorney to qualify my mother for Medicaid, because she was placed in a long-term care nursing facility, which is very expensive. Mr. DeLoach listened to the whole story, and then celineated a strategy which was , he admitted, risky in the short term, but would pay-off in the long-term. After describing the strategy, as I understood it, key family members and my co-POA were unwilling to agree to go ahead because of the level of risk. We decided to continue with private pay to the nursing home. We also felt there was an ethical side to this, and other strategies we have since heard of, for removing money that Medicaid would count, which would disqualify the person for Medicaid, causing the State (ie, taxpayers) to pick up the unpaid tab after Medicaid pays it's percentage. For those who have no problem with this, these kinds of strategies work, and have worked for a long time, when applied to a patient with a somewhat longer life-expectancy than our Mom may have. Mr. DeLoach clearly laid out the risks, fees, penalties, and tax implications for the strategy he presented to us. There wouls have been no surprises, if we had hired him and gone with that strategy.

I contacted Rep to see if my husband could be eligible for Medicaid to help pay for a skilled nursing facility. Rep was extremely helpful and knowlegeable about the Medicaid process. He answered all of my questions and was patient and caring during this stressful time.
