Joe helped me navigate a difficult jurisdiction action against me from the state of Texas. His knowledge of long arm jurisdiction specifically made the case that I needed to escape being forced to go to Texas to defend the complaint.

I have had the privileged of experiencing the legal expertise of Mr. Gufford. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the law and his cases. He is very respectful in the court but also a bulldog. He is not one to be afraid to take on very difficult cases and he will turn them into a victory. I have hesitated to write a review because my experience was so terrible. The retainer that Mr Gufford got from me in a moment of extreme pain and vulnerability was outrageous. I ended up losing the entire value of my retainer and moving on to another lawyer who I could trust and have confidence in to handle my case appropriately. It was the best decision I could have possibly have made.

I had a terrible experience with Joe Gufford in my divorce case. He did nothing but take my retainer, run up a ridiculous bill, accomplish nothing then demand more money. His staff was rude and unhelpful and he was never available when I needed him. I have had no less that six attorneys work for me over the last two years in various personal and corporate cases with fine results. I suggest seeking other legal help as there are plenty of other attorneys in Stuart that can make a positive difference for your case. It is my belief that the other review here is from Mr. Gufford himself or a staff member as it definitely is not from a client...
