I heard great things about Marie, I really want to like them, but waiting over a week after I put in an intake form is a bit discouraging. I have pertinent information I need my attorney to request from my previous employer before the info is destroyed. I’ve called twice. They told me intakes are on Saturdays- that means I’m waiting 2 weeks for an initial call? Seems excessive. I’m thinking I should try another attorney that’s not so busy. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

Jim was easy to work with and incredibly helpful. He listened to understand the situation. He talked TO me and not AT me. He let me have input on the direction it would take. When I had questions he was quick to respond and made sure I understood all the options and consequences of each. I 10/10 would recommend him. I hope that I never have to go through this again, but if I do, he will be the first person I contact! I can't say enough nice things about him. You can't go wrong with him by your side. He was very kind and I could tell he cared about the outcome and wanted to make sure I was happy. He was everything a lawyer SHOULD be and nothing like I expected!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS LAW FIRM. In February 2024 I was taken on as a client. They never returned any of my calls nor emails. If this firm doesn't consider your case a cash cow they will ignore you once you sign your contract paying them 44%. I started a job in April 2024 in which I had to terminate some employees due to lack of work, unprofessional conversations with tenants and violation of Miya's Law. This firm dropped me as a client stating conflict of interest in order to take 3 individuals that lack work ethics, corrupt, and are dishonest. If you are looking for a honest, professional, law firm that communicates with you throughout your case that have morals to represent you THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. I'm filing a complaint with the Bar due to breach of confidentiality in which this law office discussed my business with their new client. An individual that is friends with one of the employees I let go made some statements trying to make me look bad but exposed information they shouldn't have known. The staff will get rude with you as if you are a burden to them. Unsatisfied from start until 3 days ago when I was dropped as a client. Google Miya's Law and that will give you an idea of the type of clients this law firm will drop you for.

I am a client with this firm currently in the process of a case, and they have been amazing. The intake was simple, I filled out the form and it had plenty of space to go into full detail and upload pictures. I got a call back from one of the attorneys 4 days later and he did a detailed review of what happened and then got me scheduled for my meeting with Mrs. Maddox. Every-time I have reached out they have been very kind and patient as I try to understand. They take the time to really break down the process which helps greatly. As a family that comes from a law firm, most people don’t understand that a lot of it is a waiting game for the attorney. As we file, we then have to wait for them to submit their responses, before we can then move on to the next step. If they try to file certain motions the attorney then has to navigate a response to that which defers off the direct timeline prepped at the beginning of the case. The responses themselves take time before you can get back on the main path of the case AS WELL AS (if you are suing the government) the government not wanting to just hand over incriminating evidence of themselves..it’s a tooth and nail fight..think cops saying “oh the video footage doesn’t exist” when it does. More examples are, letting the notice of intent timeframe pass, waiting if they file other motions, etc. I can say with the utmost sincerity, I have never had anything but professional service and sincere care of what happened to me and to get justice. I laid out my want to push this as much as we can because what happened was extremely corrupt and I would be glad to go to trial if need be. They have supported that value of mine, but also helped me understand what happens if we do. So again, knowing that cases, and Civil rights cases at that; take 2-5 years to complete because courts are slow. It is not the attorney, but rather it’s playing the waiting game with the courts. At this level this stuff takes serious time especially if you are going after the governing body or a large company. I recommended simply asking them to clarify on the phone if you don’t understand the courts, because once you understand that I don’t believe the one star reviews of lack of contact or communication would be there, however I am not taking away from ANYONES story, just want to stand by my experience thus far and encourage a little digging of what the court system and actual time frames look like. I highly recommend Marie Maddox and her firm if you want someone who is zealous in what they do, extremely knowledgeable of civil law, and someone who will be upfront with you of what the case looks like, while remaining compassionate.
