I AM SPEAKING ABOUT MY EXPERINCE WITH THIS LAWYER THEY CALL JOSEPH ODATO. FIRST ON THE LIST IS NOT LACK OF COMMUNICATION BUT NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL. WHICH WAS THE MAIN ISSUE I HAD WITH HIM. WHEN I CALLED TO CHECK ON THE UPDATE OF MY CASE I NEVER GOT AN ANSWER ABOUT MT CASE. HE NEVER SET ME DOWN AND GUIDED ME THROUGH MY CASE. NEVER DISCUSSED THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR CASE. THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE ENTITLED TO CONCERNING YOUR CASE. HE LFET ME IN THE BLIND SO WHAT I DID I TRIED TO WORK IT OUT WITH HIM ONE ON ONE THAT DIDN'T WORK. I THEN WENT TO THE MORGAN AND MORGAN CLIENT EXPERINCE HOTLINE THEY PUT ME ON THE RUN AROUND. I TOLD THEM I WANTED HIM OFF MY CASE THEY SAID OK TOOK MY INFO AND SAID THEY WILL SUBMIT IT. KEEP IN MIND I BEEN TRYING TO FIRE HIM SINCE LAST YEAR 2021. COME TO FIND OUT THE HOTLINE WASN'T SENDING MY REQUEST IN. I KEPT CALLING AND ON FEB. 7 2022 THEY SAY THEY PUT IT IN AND IT WAS DENIED AND I FOUND THAT OUT BY CALLING TO SEE WHY IT WAS DENIED. BUT IN MAY OF 2022 HE FILED A MOTION TO WITHDRAW FROM MY CASE AND IT WAS APPROVED. BUT IT'S FUNNY HOW FOR MONTHS I BEEN TRYING TO FIRE THIS ODATO GUY AND I COULDN'T BUT SOON AS HE DOES IT IT GETS APPROVED. FROM MY EXPERINCE WITH HIM HE IS NOT FOR THE PEOPLE. THIS IS SPECIFICALLY DIRECTED TO JOSEPH ODATO NO ONE ELSE AT MORGAN AND MORGAN. IF YOU DECIDE TO HIRE MORGAN AND MORGAN FOR A WORKER'S COMP CASE DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT HIRE THAT JOSEPH ODATO GUY. YOU WILL WALK AWAY WITH NO RESULTS AND MAD. REVIEW IS WRITTEN BY FONY'A CHISHOLM 2022.

Carla Campbell, Joseph's paralegal mentioned he was very busy with an overload of cases. She also said it would take time to get ahold of him. After waiting a week since I signed the retainer, I had my first call with him yesterday. After 15 minutes he rudely said "how can I help you here? Then he said he had to go, and maybe I would be better off on my own." I was shocked that he would not take interest in my needs and was treated this way after signing a contract where he would earn 25%. I immediately asked to switch to a different attorney yesterday after this experience. The man who took my call said he filed a request for a new attorney to be assigned. I did not receive a follow up so I called back and was told I would need to request the change with Joseph. So they transferred me back to him, an todays conversation went worse than yesterday. He spent 4 minutes on the phone and said "I have to go I have mediations to attend to" he showed absolutely no concern for me or my needs. He then said to find another firm. I asked to speak with his supervisor as I want to stay with the firm and simply have an attorney who will be considerate of my needs as I am disabled and need more help understanding thing due to this. He then said he was denying my case which now means I'm not allowed to be represented by Morgan and Morgan further, all because I complained of the lack of service he gave me. I should not be dismissed from being represented on an injury that is worth representation simply because I asked to be transferred to another attorney. Joseph Odato does not take personal interest in his clients. If your not seriously injured or surgical, where the money piles up, he won't bother with you. Terrible experience with Joseph, and when I complained Morgan and Morgan, they didn't act on my behalf as the client. I called Berlin law firm the next day, and Stephen Berlin gave me personal top notch service and will be assisting me with my workers comp claim.

I hired Joseph Odato as my personal attorney when I was in need. After explaining to my situation Joseph re-assured me that everything would work out and not to worry. It put my mind at ease during a very difficult time he was very professional at all times, responded quickly for an attorney to calls i made needing answers. I trusted Mr Odato without a worry because he spoke openly to difficult questions and anxiety I had about how do I pay my bills how am I going to survive this. Joe is a Bert personable lawyer and has an A game . If you need a great lawyer, trust me I used him personally and he accomplish everything he said he would do. He spoke the truth when you may want to hear something different he gave it to me plain and simple. Through this extremely difficult time Joe was always available for me. If I left a message he always returned my calls that same day. If you need a great lawyer Joseph O’Dato is your guys. Trust me I wasn’t paid to say this I am a client and I will always be a client if I ever need as attorney again I hope that I don’t but if I did I would call Attorney Odato first. Again I’m a client not a paid spokesman for him. Everything Att. Odato said would happen did. He help me in ways I can’t explain in full but from my experience he went above and what I expected. All I can say if you need a great lawyer who tells you the truth and not what you want to here, Attorney Joe Odato is your guy. Attorney Joseph Odato beyond exceeded expectations and went above and beyond what i expected. If you need a great lawyer Attorney Joseph Odato is your guy. When you want the truth and not a bunch B.S. from your lawyer then Attorney Joseph Odato is your guy. Joe from your client and my family thank you for keeping your promises and speaking the truth again, Thanks You.

I've heard so much about Morgan & Morgan my brother recommended that I use this firm in my workers compensation case that where my injuries ended my career as a first responder. I had hired a firm but I was having some doubts. I mean this is my life and my career ended abrubtly after 20 plus years of service because of no fault of my own. so I called Morgan & Morgan to get another opinion. First thing we made an appointment for a phone conference, and the day of the appointment I got all my paper work out got myself prepared and then I waited and waited and waited no call no show. However, Joseph Adato did finally call me on a Saturday morning, and of course I missed the call. So, later in the day I realized I missed a call from Morgan and Morgan. I called back intoduced myself and began informing him about my workers comp case. I explaind that I had hired a worker's comp attorney several months ago but I just wasn't confident that i made the right choice and I owed it to myself to at least talk to another attorney so why not go to the best I thought. Right away I detected that something was off and he did not appear to have much interest in my case. When i was done explaining I commented what do think? And he said "what is it that you think i can do for you?" I'm like I don't know I called Morgan & Morgan so you could tell me what I should do...your the attorney, like maybe convincing me that I made the right call..maybe that you know the workers compensation system like the back of your hand.. I asked you if you could explain the workers comp system to me and your comment was I cannot give you any legal advice and as a matter of fact you told me that you could not give me any legal advice six times in our conversation I never asked you for legal advice I wanted to know what Morgan & Morgan could do for me I wanted understand please explain the workers comp system to me.. Anyway my wife was sitting next to me, and heard the conversation, she just shook her head and said just hang up honey and lets not waste time he's not the one. How disappointed i felt at the time because my future isnt as clear and I was sure hoping to get that Morgan & Morgan for the people attitude but the attitude I got was a shameful. I ended up going with another attorney who actually was very interested in my case and interested in helping my family. I'm not going to say stay away from Morgan and Morgan but my gut told me joseph adato was not the the attorney I was going to trust in what could be the most important decision I make for my families future.

Dina, met a very high standard in Availability, Attitude, and Ability. I call it three tools. Also feel free to use me for a recommendation as / from an out of town Dad who was looking for trusted counsel for a loved one in a legal bind due to driving offenses with related parole violation.

Dina worked with my wife and I when an unfortunate incident occurred and we had some outstanding traffic violations for toll roads. Mrs. Sheridan gave me a fair quote and did not charge anything additional to the wage we agreed upon. She was professional throughout the entire process and kept us both informed as things progressed. Having a great deal of experience working with attorneys both professionally and personally, it is definitely refreshing to be able to reach and receive timely responses from hired council. I would highly recommend Dina Busciglio Sheridan for any traffic offense cases.

  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Tampa, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
