I had called Mrs. Shania Thorpe to ask about compliance related to Florida workman's compensation. I have a UPS retail store and recently, hired a fourth employee, and two weeks later a compliance officer shut down the store without warning because I did not have a workman's comp. Infuriated about what seemed a cruel and unusual punishment I reached out to Mrs. Thorpe to question the legality of the officer's action. She not only explained clearly the Florida statue as it relates to the officer's authority and discretion to close the business , but also went out of her way to help me reduce the penalty by emailing me the necessary documents. She treated me like I'm one of her long time clients when I was calling her for a consultation. She was very generous with time she spent with me, not to mention the much needed knowledge I needed to know. I would definitely use her service in the future when I have employment related questions.
