I highly recommend Sass Law Firm for any labor and employment claims. The entire team is professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. Yvette recently represented me and was incredibly generous in answering all my questions and thoroughly guiding me through every available option. She is extremely sharp, efficient, and effective, which led to a fair and timely outcome. I also want to highlight the Office Manager, Valarie, who ensures the firm runs smoothly by streamlining communication, paperwork and the entire process.

When I found the Sass Law Firm I was experiencing a great deal of emotional pain. I needed an attorney who would listen to me, was professional, had great knowledge about my circumstances, could effectively communicate with me and had the ability to guide me towards the best resolution for my case. Most importantly, I needed someone who would respect my decisions on the progression of my case despite the potential benefits or consequences; whether they were in agreement or not. Ms. Sass has all of those qualities and much more. She and her team are efficient, courteous and exceptionally responsive. Sass Law Firm is not an inexpensive service, but it is an investment in your peace of mind and the procurement of a fierce legal advocate who is championing your cause. Selecting this law firm for a consultation or to litigate your case would be a wise decision. I pray that you choose wisely…I did.

I would love to thank my amazing and super attorney Yvette Everhart with The Sass Law firm for her outstanding legal counsel… I would recommend Mrs.Everhart to the world… My personal experience with Mrs.Everhart was nothing short of a phenomenal experience and extraordinary experience… The 5 stars that’s on this email post is well short of her 10 stars that she is… Mrs.Everhart is a 10 star attorney by far… She has been there for me since day one of my legal dispute with my employer… She has always been honest and upfront about everything and the most important part is that she listened to her client… Which I see is a very exceptional, skill and talent to possess as an attorney.. Because Mrs. Everhart was the voice for me that wouldn’t have been heard coming from me to defend myself in front of my employer… She has took her time with my discrimination/sexual harassment case… Being a black man she never made me real that she was uncomfortable around me, and working for/with me… She treated me fair and without seeing my skin color as a problem or issue… And this has been a personal experience, living as a black man in America… The home of the free and land of the brave… Where everyone is suppose to be treated equally under the constitution of the United States of America,,… I’ve never had a white person/a white women treat me so fair and equal without seeing my skin color as being unequal to society… Normally if I’m walking down the road and a white woman is coming my way she’ll get on the other side of the street to avoid me… But Mrs.Everhart never made me feel that she was intimidated or felt threaten by me… Which is something that I always experience as a black man from the opposite race… During my PDH and grievance hearings… I could feel the passion , love, and desire for Justice for me from Mrs.Everhart by her just doing the right thing by her client,… And with that being said… My case was a success, /very successful… Because I was heard, and I was represented wholeheartedly… Mrs.Everhart put her heart into my case because she seen that I was wrongfully terminated and was being discriminated against… And with that alone, I’m just so very thankful… Mrs.Everhart also prepared me for the outcome of what could possibly happen during all of my hearings… She never gave me a false sense of hope but told me that we’re gonna go into this case and do our best because the best is all one can do… Because more than likely my employer, already had their minds made up with what they were gonna do to me, even with us, presenting the facts and evidence beyond a shadow of a doubt… I never had to question myself. If Mrs.Everhart was doing her very best for me and had my best interest of heart… Because she has never been bias towards me since our 1st consultation… Honestly words cannot describe the way that I feel, and how happy and pleased I am with the representation of Mrs.Everhart.. This is a heartfelt message because of the climate and the world that we’re living in now… My well being has always been her #1 priority, and I thank her for that… Mrs.Everhart went above and beyond for a regular man like myself which was very impressive… I have so much love and respect for Mrs.Everhart… She didn’t held back as my attorney… When representing me… She spoke the truth, without hesitation on my behalf to my employer… So you can guarantee yourself that you’re getting the very best with Yvette Everhart and the Sass law firm… sincerely submitted with love…

Dina, met a very high standard in Availability, Attitude, and Ability. I call it three tools. Also feel free to use me for a recommendation as / from an out of town Dad who was looking for trusted counsel for a loved one in a legal bind due to driving offenses with related parole violation.

Dina worked with my wife and I when an unfortunate incident occurred and we had some outstanding traffic violations for toll roads. Mrs. Sheridan gave me a fair quote and did not charge anything additional to the wage we agreed upon. She was professional throughout the entire process and kept us both informed as things progressed. Having a great deal of experience working with attorneys both professionally and personally, it is definitely refreshing to be able to reach and receive timely responses from hired council. I would highly recommend Dina Busciglio Sheridan for any traffic offense cases.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Tampa, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
