We had a meeting with Ms. Everhart in November. I feel we got excellent advice, and she spent over an hour with us, so I didn't feel rushed. We were referred to the NLRB, and she said that she would start there because you don't need an attorney. We are awaiting the outcome of that case, and either way, we will come back to Sass law firm for representation with a related EEOC matter. We had called several firms and did an "intake" with somebody that screens cases, 2 called back and said they wouldn't represent us. So the bonus here - even if you are paying $250 - is that you will be heard by an attorney and given legal advice
Update: The employer settled with us. I would have preferred to go to court, but my husband already had a new job. The former employer did have to post in their offices some sort of notice advising employees of their rights. Until the gov't allows stiffer penalties for employers that violate NLRB laws, the cost of a settlement is just a cost of doing business.

Great experience with Ms. Wise at this law firm. They truly worked exceptionally hard to reach a positive resolution to my case. Highly recommend as tough female lawyers dedicated to the eradication of gender discrimination in the workplace!

She was "great" until it came down to negotiation in mediation with the same group that she later would go on to do deals with, Hillsborough County. What was a "strong fighter" became silent at the negotiation table, leaving the client to fight on their own. Later I put 2 and 2 together, she was protecting her future position to negotiate by caving and going silent during the mediation process -- knowing she would meet these same people in the future since she made part of her money from suing Hillsborough County. She looks like a nice Quaker lady, but don't trust the exterior.

I went in on 11/15/17 to have a counsultation with an attorney.( Yvette Everhart).I wanted a counsultation with Mrs.Sass but she was not available. From the beginning of the counsultation I didn’t feel like I was being heard at all.She was just going through the routine. It was as if she wasn’t engaged or interested in what I was saying or asked to see any of the evidence I had to support my case and I had plenty.I never felt like she cared about my ordeal at all.She just went through the motions because I paid $250.00 for the consultation.Only to later tell me if I wanted them to represent me in my mediation I would have to pay $4,000 of FRONT!!! Let ‘s be really real. Most people that have employment litigations don’t have a job anymore or they are getting unemployment benefits which max out at $552.00 bi-weekly for approximately 3 months. That’s if you get the most allowed.Where do you expect people to get that kind of money for representation? It’s bad enough you charge people $250 for the initial consultation only to gamble on whether or not you will represent us.My suggestion to everyone is to do your research and don’t get caught up on awards and aclamades. This firm is all about the money, not defending the client only if you have unlimited cash.Horrible experience!!!!!

Dear Ms. Sass,
I would like to express our extreme gratitude to you for the insightful, topnotch, highly professional and compassionate legal services you recently provided to me during my resolution of a critical and pressing legal matter. There is nothing more important than finding an expert legal advocate to guide and assist when negotiating a situation involving something as important as work-related discrimination, FMLA, and wrongful termination/resignation issues. I performed research prior to selecting you, an expert in this field, to provide me with legal services. You came to me highly recommended, from numerous personal sources. You successfully negotiated a very difficult settlement for a close friend of mine, ultimately achieving his goals. Your reputation within the legal community precedes you as being the most talented and accomplished Tampa Labor and Employment Lawyer representing employees; one who has vast expertise in the areas of wrongful termination, FMLA, discrimination, negotiations and/or litigations. What I found from working with you personally is that you will pursue representation of a legal matter in a way that benefits your client the most in reaching his/her personal goals. I had been advised that you are a masterful legal bull dog, one who will not quit in fighting for the rights of your clients, be it through reaching a negotiated settlement or bringing a case to trial. My own personal experience with you supports every recommendation that I had received about you. It is all true. Thank you for reworking your own schedule to provide me with an initial consult, when you became aware that time was of the essence. You provided me with your undivided attention for an initial consultation, while hearing the story, validating claims from a legal standpoint and providing me with your initial recommendations on how best to proceed. Being a lawyer myself, I know the value of your time, and the great value of a shrewd, brilliant lawyer, who is top in her field and on top of her game as a fierce adversary. That is the kind of lawyer I sought out and needed. Another thing that I soon learned about you, is that you care so incredibly much about fighting on behalf of an individual that you feel has been wronged, the underdog. You are very passionate about making a victim feel heard and affirmed and a Company ( or a School District) accountable in the case where you determine that Federal laws have been breached and a legal cause of action exists. You have vast experience handling sensitive legal issues with the discretion and care required. Equally important is your ability to assess the overall picture from a legal standpoint, and to file a lawsuit on a behalf of a client or encourage trying to first reach a negotiated settlement, if, and only if, you feel that it might be in the best interest of the individual involved. You have shown me personally that you are not about the money, you are about providing the best legal advice and service. You are about helping someone who has legitimately been wronged. You are an awesome person and top legal advocate, Ms. Sass. I am so thankful that I have you in my legal corner. You are the very best lawyer and I thank you for helping me to resolve a legal issue , when for a number of reasons I was unable to see the forest through the trees and advocate on my own behalf.
Sincerely Yours,
Choosing Anonymity due to sensitive nature of this existing claim

Everyone at the Sass Law Firm was very helpful. From the time I first contacted the firm to the end of the process they were great. If you ever have the need for not only a very competent attorney but a very competent staff you should consider hiring this firm for your legal needs.

This sentiment is shared before the outcome of our five-day trial is known, because these feelings do not stem from a favorable outcome and would not change with an unfavorable one.
To each member of the Sass Law Firm – I appreciate and respect every single one of you so much!
It has truly enriched my life in knowing you throughout this process and witnessing the way you pour your heart and soul into a case, and your skillfulness, fairness and ethics, thoroughness, professionalism, knowledge, and the way you work together as a stellar team, and – the most lasting on my heart – your compassion. That includes the recent circumstances with my son being admitted to the ICU the morning of our second day of trial (for which you never let be known the huge inconvenience I know that delay and continuance of trial caused), and well beyond – you never even made me feel badly the first morning of trial when I misjudged needed travel and parking time and arrived late.
I will always be so grateful to you for believing in me that first day I came to your office and pleaded for help and your expertise – particularly in having felt like the 'little guy' against the 'big guy,' and understanding the hurdle of overcoming a favorable presumption toward a legal professional who is expected to be held to a high standard of ethics. In searching for the best representation when it was needed, so many legal professionals and different resources led me to you. You didn't need or want my case, yet you believed in me and fought so hard for me.
If the outcome should not be in my favor for some reason, it will certainly not be because of any shortcomings on this end – on the contrary, I feel you fought for me with the same determination, expertise, and thoughtful judgment that you would have if I were your very own family. From the deepest place in my heart, I am so grateful for that and for all of you!
Jennifer

On Thursday April 6th 2016 my wife visited with Cynthia Sass. I attended the meeting as my wife has been going through a particularly bad issue at work. We found Cynthia to be caring, compassionate, and very easy to talk with about this most difficult issue. We found her insights extremely valuable and her council prudent in helping my bride of 26 years navigate through these tough times.

Cynthia is simply the best employment law attorney in the Tampa Bay area. I am always impressed with an attorney with the legal chops and the stamina to dare to stand up for what is right (there are a lot of lazy lawyers out there). Cynthia is experienced, tenacious, intelligent, with the right connections to accomplish whatever a case requires. She is a creative thinker, and is highly committed to getting to a favorable resolution for her client, whatever it takes. She handles claims professionally, listens, and responds quickly to any questions or inquiries. And when she needs to deliver forceful legal moves, she does so with precision.

I called this firm to consider whether or not I had a wrongful termination case. The receptionist was curt, and before hearing anything I had to say, she instructed me to mail them a check for $200 to "review" the matter. When I questioned the exorbitant fee, she compared their services to a "doctor diagnosing what is wrong with a patient". First, rude receptionist lady, a doctor takes insurance and doesn't require $200 for 10-minutes to figure out if there's a claim or not! THIS LAW FIRM IS IN IT FOR THE MONEY AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE NEEDS OF THEIR CLIENTS!!! Run!!! Very fast!
