I hired Mark for my husband and let me tell you, he is darn good at what he does! Not only was Mark honest, but we always knew all the possibilities along the way of what could happen during the case. Don’t even get me going on Jeanette. She’s an absolute dream. She always answered my calls or texts.And not only is she good at her job too… she made it personal. She would ask how I’m doing and make sure I was okay every step of the way! Mark and his office saved my life. I had a very high profile case and the Government was hell bent on destroying my life and imprisoning me for a very long time. I was innocent and this was my first time being arrested. Before I hired Mark, The Government refused to give me bond and held me in jail for over two years. The jail treated me horribly and I was always in the hole. Before Mark I had four different lawyers representing me. I let go of them all because none of them fought for me, I was just another number to them. One lawyer only visited me once in six months, stayed three minutes, and didn’t know my name. Another lawyer refused to believe me and wanted me to take a plea to go to prison for ten years. Three months before my trial I hired Mark O’Brien and my life took a 180 for the best! Unlike every other attorney Mark and his team made sure to pick up the phone and answer all of my concerns. He visited me in jail consistently and he talked to the Warden multiple times on my behalf. I was treated with respect at the jail for the first time. The guards no longer harassed me because they knew Mark would step in. Mark and his team communicated with my family constantly. Mark made sure my suit went to the dry cleaners to assure I looked good every day in court. Mark only had a couple of weeks to prepare for trial he exposed every lie and trick the Government did against me and totally destroyed their case against me. I was released three months after hiring him, right before Christmas just like Mark said I would and spent it with my family. I was in jail for two and a half years due to bad representation. One of my previous attorneys event contacted me afterwards and said “I understand why you fired us, only Mark could have gotten you that kind of outcome.” Mark freed me and prepared housing for me until my family was able to pick me up. When the police heard I was released they were so upset and embarrassed, they tried to arrest me again ..twice, but Mark put a full stop to that and I’m free because of him today. Mark and his team are truly the best! Take it from me I have had many lawyers. Even though I was innocent the other lawyers were scared of how many resources the Government were using against me and didn’t want to do the work to get the job done right. Without Mark I would have went to prison for a very long time for something I didn’t do. He is simply the best and I know this because he helped so many other inmates in jail get justice as well. Federal inmates weren’t going home if they didn’t have Mark as a lawyer. I recommend him highly.

Mark and Jeanette were amazing! Obviously being in a situation that needs to hire an attorney is scary and stressful beyond belief. Mark was very realistic with the expectations of my case, and he worked tirelessly to ensure the best possible outcome. Jeanette was a true God-send! She continued to go above and beyond with her dedication to my cast, her empathy and kindness. She made herself available to me night and day. If I had questions or going through depression, she talked to me, truly cared, and in doing so, I can honestly say she has become my friend! Many times she would me or my husband unsolicited, just to see how we were doing. Both she and Mark helped me feel “worthy” again. I was never judged, just helped through this ordeal with compassion and kindness. Again, in the end, it turned out the best it probably could have. Mark was even able to get my probation terminated early, allowing me to get back to my “normal” life. I highly recommend them to anyone who finds themselves in need of a defense attorney! I simply could not have navigated through this without them!

Mark, Jeanette and his team were nothing short of impeccable throughout my entire case. They both stood ready to answer my questions at any time and always did so promptly. I don’t even know where to begin with this review. When I met Mr. Obrien in 2010 I had violated my Federal probation. I didn’t know how it was going to end I was 6 months pregnant and luckily there were no more public defenders so the judge assigned Mr. Obrien as my public defender. Mr. O’brien did above and beyond the call of his duties. When I went to court for my state case they told me that I had retained private council. I was quite shocked. Unbeknownst to me, Mr. O’brien had taken on my state case pro bono as a part of my defense and his kindness. He fought me as if his life depended on it. I walked away reinstated. Mr. O’brien and his team is so awesome they’re kind, caring and concerned about their clients needs. His assistant Jeanette, you can call her anytime of night or day and she’ll comfort you to assure you that Mr. O’brien has your best interest. In 2022 I got another case a little different but again he stepped right in. He assured me that he would once again take care of me. He told me he would always be my attorney until I fired him, but that definitely is not happening. He’s my attorney for a lifetime. I’ll tell anyone if you in the market for a good attorney when that you can rest at night and trust that he’ll take care of you then consider Mark J Obrien he’s definitely that guy

You come to a lawyer scared and likely confused about what's going to happen next. How serious is this accusation and is there the possibility of being exonerated? Mark did an amazing job of calming our fears with facts and details and a plan of action. He was very honest about the areas of "concern" and the things he could do to paint things in a favorable light. He then thoroughly defended and protected us. He investigated the rules, identified the gray areas, and showed how we didn't have any intent to break them. He then came up with a plan of action to get the charges dropped with a way to maintain good favor with the authority in question. No one wants to be in this situation but Mark (and his ENTIRE staff) made it the most tolerable experience possible and eventually ensured the absolute best outcome imaginable.

Mark J O’Brien is certainly a man of his word. He was my court appointed attorney back in 2009. I came to him with a significant criminal history, a case I was guilty of, and really no chance at getting leniency. My guidelines were 262 to 327 months. In the end, I was sentenced to 300 months, nothing this firm could have done differently at that time. Mark did tell me at that time if I ever made it back into court, contact him, and he would represent me. After 11 years, I finally got an appeal granted. I contacted Mark, he said we will represent you going forward. Which they did and when resentenced I received 168 months, with Credit for time served. I had one year left to complete that sentence. Mark again told me when you get out, you will have three years supervision. He stated again when you file your motion to get early term on your probation get a hold of me. Of course, after 18 months on my supervision I contacted Mark’s office. He told me as long as my probation officer approves it , he will file the motion for me. my probation officer said after I complete two years himself , and his supervisor would support such motion. Marks office was diligent in preparing the paperwork. Then finally once the probation officer approved it. Marks office, then filed the motion. after a few days in front of the judge it was granted. So when I say Mark is a man of his word I know this through through for over 14 years now. I would highly recommend anyone that wants a legal team that actually cares to hire the best.

Where do I even begin, Mark and his team are hands down the best in what they do! Very professional, upfront, prompt on dates, times and scheduling, and they even dedicated every Wednesday as a day my family and I could come in even just for comfort.
