I was introduced to Jeanne Tate 10 years ago when I tried to leave an abusive marriage with my then step-daughter who I raised since she was 2 months old. She tried everything to find a way for me to adopt her then. We tried fighting legally to do something but were unable to at that time. On my own I attempted to adopt my son who I raised since he was 1 years old. I thought it would be cut and dry but quickly learned that legalities and law does not make things as easy as I thought. My wife and I dealing with what was a very difficult case with a terrible natural father who was abusive and had completely abandoned our son since birth (10 years) but then out of spite contested the adoption when we tried to adopt on our own without legal counsel. We had a very unique adoption case and were extremely nervous about hiring an attorney. In fact, we remained constantly nervous throughout the whole process. We reminded ourselves constantly to trust in Erica and Jeanne because they are very knowledgeable and skilled...and each time we trusted them they excelled beyond what we imagined.
