I had real estate tenants that conspired to bring a personal injury lawsuit against the LLC that owned the rental house. I manage that LLC and rental house and have the major financial interest in that LLC and rental property. After the bad tenants moved out, I thought I had heard the last of them. But two weeks later, I received a demand letter at my front door from their personal injury lawyer. That was a very, very bad day for me. After a few weeks of adjusting to the fact that the LLC might be forced into an expensive lawsuit and shopping and asking around for a lawyer, I spoke one day with Ron Marlowe at a social event. Learning that Mr. Ron was a lawyer, we agreed that I would come into his office for a one hour visit to go over the facts of the case. At the end of that hour, I hired Mr. Marlowe. He did a great job of insulating me from the plaintiff's attorney and keeping me posted of all communication. I then, on my own, recalled, documented and became totally organized with all the historical facts of the case. Facts that would prove in court, if necessary, through preponderance of the evidence that the claims of the tenant were preplanned and fraudulent. The plaintiff's attorney, learned from Attorney Marlowe that there was no insurance company for the property(it was self insured). The plaintiff's attorney knowing that with no insurance company as an easier mark, and my side, totally knowledgeable of all the facts and details and unlikely to pay them to go away, thought better of proceeding with the claim in a court of law and just dropped the matter (we never heard from them again).
