MIKE THE ATTORNEY WHO ALOT OF ATTORNEY'S SHOULD BE LIKE OR CONDUCT BUSINESS LIKE. I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT I BEEN IN SEVERAL DIFFERENT CAR ACCIDENT OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS AND I NEVER HAD A CASE SETTLE AS QUICKLY AS ATTORNEY MICHAEL HERRON DONE. UNLIKE, OTHER ATTORNEY'S THAT ADVERTISE FOR THE PEOPLE , AT THE LAW OFFICE OF MICHAEL HERRON THEY'RE NOT JUST FOR THE PEOPLE THEY'RE REALLY FOR YOU AND YOUR LOVE ONES TOO.I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT HE ALSO ESTABLISH A GOOD SUP[PORT SYSTEM FOR HIMSELF. HIS PARALEGAL'S THATS IN HIS OFFICE IS VERY HELPFUL AND PROFESSIONAL. WHEN YOU CALL HIS OFFICE HIS PARALEGAL MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE OF YOUR CONCERN'S DILIGENTLY BE ADDRESS. MOST OF ALL IF THEY WASN'T FOR SURE ABOUT A PACIFIC QUESTION OR SOMETHING THEY WOULD PROMPTLY GET BACK WITH YOU WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD WITH AN ANSWER AND NOT GIVE YOU THE RUN AROUND LIKE MOST OR SOME ATTORNEY'S PARALEGAL MIGHT DO. YOU DON'T HAVE TO CALL 3 TIMES WONDERING DID THEY GET A RESPONSE TO YOUR CONCERN. I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THANKS YOU TO JULIE AND JOHNA DEARLY AS WELL. LOL TO BE HONEST I CAN SAY I AM NOT A PERSON WHO WRITE REVIEWS ON A PERSON, BUT BASE ON THE PHENOMENAL JOB THAT WAS PEFORMED ON MY CASE I THOUGHT IT WAS TIME TO GIVE CREDIT TO WHERE IT WAS DUE AND WAS THE LAW OFFICE OF MICHEAL HERRON. THAT'S WHY I DECIDED TO SEND HIM SOME EDIBLE ARRANGEMENT ORDER #W0074882138-1 AND WRITE THIS REVIEW. I KNOW IT'S TRUE MICHAEL DESERVE MORE, BUT TO SHOW MY APPRECIATION THIS ALL I COULD AFFORD. SO TO YOUR NUMBER ONE THOUGHT'S OF SHOULD YOU HIRE MICHAEL HERRON AND WILL I HIRE HIM AGAIN YES! YES! YES! NO DOUBT ABOUT IT YES! LAST AND NOT LEAST I WANTED TO SAY IS I DON'T KNOW HOW WAS IT DONE , BUT THE LAW OFFICE OF MICHAEL HERRON MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS THE ONLY CLIENT THAT THEY HAD TO WORK ON. I CAN SAY THAT IT SCARE ME A LITTLE AT FIRST, BUT IT ALSO GAVE ME COMFORTABLITILY. SO DON'T WORRY IF YOU'RE TREAT LIKE YOU'RE HIS ONLY CLIENT. HE'S NOT A BIG LAW FIRM, BUT HE BEEN LICENSE FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND I THINK IF YOU HAVE A LEGAL MATTER YOU WILL WANT TO SEE IF YOU CAN BE HELP HIS FIRM FIRST. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Michael Herron and his staff are extremely professional and knowledgeable. They will treat you as an impossible individual, not a number as the big firm may. I was in an auto accident as a passenger resulting in a shoulder injury that required surgery. The major insurance company tried everything in the book to prove the injury was from an earlier accident or deterioration due to age. Michael fought them with all of his experience and knowledge. The results of this battle included payment of my medical bills and a settlement check. If you need professional assistance with a legal issue, Michael Herron and his staff is an excellent choice

Last December 16th I was in a auto accident in Northern Virginia while visiting my daughters. I contacted Michael Herron when I returned to Tampa after reading about him on his website. He was a former Prosecutor and most importantly to me, a Gulf War veteran. I was really impressed about how easy it was talking with Michael about the serious accident I was in. I highly recommend Michael as a lawyer that without question, you should hire. Now Michael is only part of this law firm. Upon hiring him you get the pleasure of dealing with Julie Burger (Paralegal) and Johna Rawels (Legal Assistant). These two very experienced and knowledgeable women handled my case along with Micheal and I am so grateful with all the work they did. They are a great team. I was in therapy for 9 months and both Julie and Johna constantly called me checking on how I was feeling. I can't you how great and important that made me feel. Once again let me say, you will not regret hiring the Michael R. Herron Law Firm.

Met with Mr. Herron, very straightforward who compiles all possibilities of outcomes and options. Doesn't hesitate to mention other lawyers, however, doesn't make false promises. I decided to hire Mr. Herron and the outcome is pending a case of falsely DUI accusation. If one is looking for a lawyer, Mr. Herron is an individual to have a consultation with. I gave him 4 stars based on the consultation. Whether the outcome, his effort, determination, dedication, and consistency will give the final review. He's a good man! Thanks...

Dina, met a very high standard in Availability, Attitude, and Ability. I call it three tools. Also feel free to use me for a recommendation as / from an out of town Dad who was looking for trusted counsel for a loved one in a legal bind due to driving offenses with related parole violation.

Dina worked with my wife and I when an unfortunate incident occurred and we had some outstanding traffic violations for toll roads. Mrs. Sheridan gave me a fair quote and did not charge anything additional to the wage we agreed upon. She was professional throughout the entire process and kept us both informed as things progressed. Having a great deal of experience working with attorneys both professionally and personally, it is definitely refreshing to be able to reach and receive timely responses from hired council. I would highly recommend Dina Busciglio Sheridan for any traffic offense cases.

  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Tampa, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
