When my mother passed away, I contacted the lawyer who did her estate planning, E. Steven Lauer, to handle the post death administration of her trust. Because my mother had a living trust, my family was not required to go through probate. The distribution of her property was promptly handled by Mr. Lauer, who charged us a very reasonable fee. Our family experienced a very emotionally draining divorce battle with our elderly father's ex-wife who attempted to rip off our father's estate for everything that she could once she discovered our father was suffering from severe Alzheimer's Disease.
