I asked on AVVO re my ex-husband having Parkinson's Disease, & his wife sending my monthly alimony checks late every month & could I make her send thru automatic direct deposit. I was hesitant to contact an attorney because of fear of judgment. I had been a defendant in an eviction lawsuit and after representing myself at first, the case became too complex for me to navigate. I called Mr. Lampert at 5:00 on weekday and he still took my call. He listened attentively as I described my case history, and walked me through his thoughts, running scenarios together and offering his insight, time, and advice even though we hadn’t even discussed retainers or attorney fees. He devoted over an hour reviewing and discussing the case before a last minute hearing that was approaching. He did all that without even asking for my business or requesting commitment. He was truly just making himself available to help someone seeking legal guidance. He asked me to send him relevant docs and is going to review the case in more detail later this evening. Its not straight forward like typical eviction cases since the current CDC COVID moratorium has been put in place, coupled with a proposed amendment by opposing counsel made this case a bit more complex. I’m grateful that he was so willing to give me his valuable time and insight without ever meeting me and made reaching out for help a relieving experience. Truly great person.
