Pros

Highly skilled and effective criminal defense attorney
“If you need a lawyer that would get the job done, its Zeljka Bozanic, I was facing 10-15 years on a charge that was Publishable By Life if I were to be found guilty, It was my first time in jail and didn't know what to do because there was evidence I was there even though I wasn't completely involved. Zeljka comforted my mother and father while I remind in incarcerated while meant the world, God always made sure I was okay but he sent a lawyer that was the best and did everything to get me out of jail with out House arrest, Probation, or even a jail sentence.”
2
Passionate and dedicated to her clients
“She cares! I changed attorneys after two years of my case being in court and continued all the time. She came in as my attorney after all that time, investigated, filed motions and got the case dismissed. I cannot tell enough how impressed I was. She does not like to lose or take a plea, she fights with her heart and cares about her clients.”

Marvin Schulman is an excellent attorney. He is available to answer any questions or concerns you may have. His guidance is realistic and honest. His thoughtful advice is wise and his staff is always helpful. I have been a client for a few years, and recommended him as well and everyone has been extremely satisfied. Though this may be called the practice of law he is truly an expert.

Marvin Schulman handled a personal injury case for me. I was involved in an automobile accident resulting in significant damage to my vehicle and injuries to my knee. The insurance company sent out an adjuster the next day who started playing hardball right from the beginning. Mr. Schulman acted swiftly and professionally which resulted in my vehicle being repaired and my medical bills paid. Once the case was settled there was a nice monetary recovery for my pain and suffering and lost wages. I was extremely happy with the way Marvin Schulman handled my case. I recommended him to my sister, who later had a case, as well as several other people. I found Marvin Schulman to be sincere and honest in his dealings and would not hesitate to recommend him.

Three other lawyers worked on my case before I came to Ms. Prado. Thankfully, she knew how to handle the alimony, child support, and distribution of assets without dragging the case on like my previous attorneys. I was extremely frustrated with the entire court process before I came to her. She simplified the issues and brought the case to a close within the time frame she estimated.

If you have been accused of any UCMJ related offenses, I cannot recommend enough the law offices of Gonzalez and Waddington enough. I initially received expert guidance from Mrs Alexandra Gonzalez-Waddington and was eventually represented by Mr Michael Waddington. It is my true belief that I would not have received the exceptional outcome I received without their support. They, along with their paralegal Ms. Sandra Flores, were incredibly professional, attentive, and supportive throughout the entire process. They worked tirelessly to prove my innocence, and saved my career. You will not find better representation anywhere else.

Before you read any further reviews, consider this... What is your career worth to you? Is it worth fighting for? Would you hire the best defense if possible for your case? Than look no further, these attorneys are who you are looking for. I can not express how deeply grateful I am for these attorneys. The odds were stacked against me for an allegation that i did not commit. No one believed me, until I hired these attorneys. These two attorneys have spoke to me numerous times about my case and were always available especially as i was overseas and still was able to answer any questions I had. For all that its worth, Michael and Alexandra Waddington will treat you with respect and hear what you have to say with no judgement. When its all said and done, based on what arguments that these two attorneys stated, I would definitely hire them again for any defense of any wrongdoing. So i ask again, Is your career worth fighting for? If it is, hire these attorneys. I promise you, you will be in great hands.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Weston, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
