I'm a small MSP (6 employees, 2 locations, one in Orlando, one in Cleveland), offering infrastructure as a service and some BDR services to my customers. I needed an attorney to review my current contracts, and write up some new ones. I heard him speak at a Microsoft Partner Summit meeting years ago, and then again at ConnectWise's IT Summit in Orlando in 2010. This guy understands managed service providers like no one else outside of the industry. A lawyer who can talk about HaaS or IaaS? Are you kidding? I could not believe it...until I retained him. He knows what he's doing, in a field where so many others don't. He's the guru of MSP contracts, and i don't make a move without calling him first. Maybe the best recommendation I could offer you is this: last year I brought him in to speak at a networking group of MSPs in the mid-west, and i'm already getting requests to bring him back. Not an easy group to impress. He did a really good job.

Divorce time is one of the harder time you can have. Is almost impossible to fight alone. My case was more than 2 years. Hiring a Lawyer is a must. without knowledge you will finish making a lot of mistake against yourself that in the long run is going to cost you and affect you triple or more. How you going to end is proportional direct to who you hire to do this job. Attorney Guarino from the very beginning turn my situation upside down in my favor. and keep it like this, one step at the time getting better up to the end. She really knows when is the right time to do each movement. And the best I didn't cost me a fortune that other firm quotes for me. My ex wants from beginning a long list. she try the home, she want 5000 $ a month lifetime for alimony, Full custody of my two daughters, of course child support, all the family assets, she want me to pay her lawyer fees, and all family liabilities , if this is not enough, My ex also wants uncalculated amount from my employer , something like 200 thousand. LOL. now this is funny, because Ileana Guarino make ashes everything she ask. But I literally try suicide, before I hire her It was hard to meet my own daughters, and my ex was planning as soon as I live the home bring her boyfriend in the house and make me pay for the home. JAJAJAJA, never happens . Ileana Guarino, detailed guide me step by step how to straight everything on . in a matter of 2 months we put law in action and my ex has to stop her behavior. my daughters wasn't afraid of her mom anymore and consider not to take sides anymore, she proof very easy to judge extra income my ex has and I didn't pay anything she wants. the battle continue at the pointe I almost loose my job, but the pressure she put on the deposition she make to my ex was so hard, that we all finish with headed, but was worth it. she make so much discovery that this case was easy to win. My ex has not choice to settle for what I ask. Thank Attorney Guarino I didn't finish how usually anybody in my case regularly ends. Is hard to describe this lawyer in one word, she always has some alternative to resole every problem. ands is amazing how easy she get rid of them. The home was sold, no money for my ex, alimony was so low that is easier to say , there was not alimony, My ex was impose to pay herself her lawyers fees, parenting plan was 50/50 every other week, and child support is a table, not one can change that. I feel so happy and secure, because the knowledge she give me allow me to be confident in my post divorce live, that my ex can not come back anymore for bite me again.

My husband and I choose Miss Cruz to represent us during our petition for residency. She really knows her stuff!! Miss Cruz made us feel at ease by guiding us step by step, basically holding our hands through the entire process. It was nice to know that it wasn't all about the money like most lawyers, you could feel she genuinely cared about us. She is very honest and up-front in the sweetest way possible. Janelle is not only a great lawyer, she is an amazing human being with a beautiful heart. Janelle prepared us so well for our interview that we were approved without complications. She is most definitely the go to immigration lawyer if you want a successful outcome and a lawyer that always has time for you.

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Weston, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
