After putting everything I had into getting custody of my daughter, I've lost, and my case hasn't even started yet... Catch your attention? I hired this firm a year ago and have had nothing but nightmares since. Literally, I wake up at night worried about my child... This shouldn’t be happening with a reputable firm and money, both of which I have. My case was a slam dunk case. The mom has had her children taken away multiple times by DCF. I was not a defendant, so I didn't need to be represented... I was there because I wanted to and I had just got involved in my daughter’s life after never knowing she existed and discovered the living situation, DCF case, the moms psych issues etc. I’m a single father to a 14-year-old boy, in addition to my 5-year-old daughter whom I was fighting for (I already have full custody of my son). Additionally, I’m successful in my career and have been 100% stable for well over 10 years. I’ve put everything I had into being there for my daughter. This firm was a referral from a friend and highly successful attorney here in San Diego. After over a year of this firm representing me, I realized that my daughters mother was winning, with a public defender. After analyzing the situation, I realized that the trust I had put into this firm was misguided, and that the public should know about how this firm operates prior to hiring them. My first point to make is that although we have 2 different cases that this firm represented me on (DCF Dependency Case & Paternity and Custody Case), it’s been over a year now, and after over 100+ emails of my lawyer ignoring me, I finally decided to talk directly with the state attorney, which ultimately solved my problem, which was to get a home study done (which is what attorneys are for, right?). I have 2 attorneys at this firm, one for each case, yet neither of these attorneys even had the slightest clue that I was working directly with the state attorney and had no clue that I accomplished what they couldn’t with a simple email. Once I realized that, I confronted them and had several phone calls and emails about how I felt like they weren’t ‘hands-on’ as much as I wanted, and that I lost faith in them, and requested them to withdraw as council. I have the phone call recordings, so if anyone wants to hear, please PM me. Their response was for them to withdraw from my case due to irreconcilable differences. Prior to them filing that motion, I get a call from Mr. Eric Bensen stating that they were sorry that they weren’t involved as much as I wanted, but that they would fix the problem and give me 2 free hours of service. Great, right? Wrong… It’s now been over a month, and their solution to my problem was to file a motion for change of placement, that they knew they would lose… Not only that, but they also decided to file this motion after it was even relevant. The point of the motion was that the mom was unstable, and after a year of being unstable, she finally found a home, so in the courts eyes, was no longer unstable. Yet, my attorneys didn’t even realize that was the motion… Why? Because they don’t care… I can go on and on with how this firm will rip you off… Instead, I’m going to build a website and share my experience with them. Don’t believe these fake reviews of easy cases… If you have a case that involves a child, one that is close to your heart, I ask that you please take a moment and review my input and reach out to me directly so that you fully understand what you’re getting yourself into. If you have money to throw away on having a firm represent you that you doesn't put you first, then save it and please use it to hire an attorney that will get stuff done. If you have some extra money to throw away, or advice on a good lawyer that can get stuff done, then please reach out to me. These peoples’ pockets are already deep enough and I promise they will put themselves first, not your children or family.

Would not recommend Jonathan Simon! He did not listen to any of my concerns. Wasn’t prepared for my case. Hasn’t prepared me. Took my money which wasn’t a problem. Even called to hurry me to make a decision if I want to hire him. All paperwork and filing done by other people in the office. Secretaries were changing every other week or month I don’t remember. So I had to deal with new people all the time who weren’t up to speed. Case went for close to a year and some. He made bad decision on my part saying “ We are doing what our clients want.” What about do what you know is best because I don’t know if it is. It’s my first rodeo. He took yellow intake paper from a year ago to hearing that was long waited for. Presented poorly. Did not know how to get what I asked for. Than after awhile notified me of what other party wanted to agree on. What a shame. Smooth talking to get me hired though. Stay away or do it at the cost of your hard earned money! Look for aggressive and knowledgable lawyer. Google reviews aren’t everything. Talk to people who hired lawyers. Go to court and ask. Even there they know who’s good or who did what.

First off unbelievably awesome law firm!!! I had spent a lot of money on consultations, looking for an honest and fair attorney that had my interests at heart and that stopped once I met with Mr Vaghaiwalla! He addressed my concerns that I had for my children and approached it as if they were his own children! Being a single father that meant the world to me and I instantly hired him and his firm. I am definitely a true believer that all lawyers are scam artists. Although recently Simon Nicholson proved me 100% wrong. He is extremely personable and very upfront and honest and easy to talk to. He settled my case fast and efficient, all my medical bills were paid and I walked away with some money in my pocket which is always a plus.
