Casey and Jennifer were great to work with. They both are very caring and knowledgeable and well able to get you the max for your case. They work and fight for you! After making several calls to find an attorney to work with, Jennifer is the one that right away, made me feel comfortable with them taking the case. I felt their trust, and caring nature right away. I knew God sent me to them. I didn't know why, but I knew he did, and I'm glad he did. God always knows what's best for his children. Thank you Casey and Jennifer. Great Team, and Great Teamwork!!

I was first introduced to Casey Stevens by a co-worker almost 10 years ago. After my family and myself was involved in a car accident which included five cars. We we're not at fault, so a fellow coworker who had used Casey's services in the past suggested that we give him a call. He came to our home and sat down at our kitchen table and that's where it began. I'm happy to say that we were quite happy with the services that we received and it totaled over 300,000. Since that accident Georgia/Atlanta traffic is a challenge and can be dangerous at times. I have recommended Casey Stevens office to fellow coworkers friends and I find myself and my family in need of his service again ourselves. Everyone who works at his Alpharetta office are very Hands-On and are always friendly. Nina Frazier

Andy is truly the best at what he does. His knowledge and expertise is unmatched in my opinion. If you are looking for the best of the best he is the man. My case took 2yrs to go to trial and never at any point did I have any doubt he would see it through till the end! We won our case and honestly it wasn't even worth his time to take but he had compassion for me beyond what any other lawyer would it wasn't about the money for him as much as it was the principle of justice for what happened to me. I cannot thank him enough for his services and I will tell anyone if they are looking for a lawyer that will truly care about you as a person and fight for you he is the man to get it done!

Okay that may be a tad dramatic but after first speaking with two other attorneys who I KNEW were not helping me, I was desperate to find a lawyer to fight for me. I was being bullied by a former employer and my ability to earn an income in my industry was at risk. Andy listened carefully to all the facts and took control of the situation. If you’re in search of a knowledgeable attorney who will fight for their client, Andy is the one!

After a couple weeks of searching for someone to help me I was giving up hope and trying to do legal work myself LOL,, everyone I spoke to wanted $250 to $350 an hour which I did not have. Andy took the time, listened to my case and required no upfront payments. Of course he's taking a risk with no guarantee and that takes a man with a good heart and chutzpah. He is a blessing to me and actually became more than a lawyer but also a friend he's one of the nicest men you will ever meet! I have already reccomended him to my family and friends and you will as well, hes the best!

Ms. Christian worked with my parents over a decade ago to set up their land based business and conduct estate planning using a family trust that would withstand the test of time in the form of multiple generations, possible divorces of family members, etc. No one expected we'd need the estate planning Ms. Christian did for us quite so soon. With the sudden passing of my parents, I was left as executor of their estates and operating manager and president of the family business. Due to Ms. Christian's extremely thorough work when designing the trust, she was able to help me wade through the complexities and unforeseen (on my part) difficulties associated with managing two estates and the family businesses. Ms. Christian's extremely thorough and detail oriented nature made a very complicated family affair run smoothly and effectively. I have had many attorneys in the past, but none that took such careful time explaining all the steps of the process and then making it all happen exactly as described. The loss of both my parents in such a short period of time left me shell-shocked, but I never once had to worry that the estate filings were done on time and correctly. She made a horrible time in my life so much easier because unlike other attornies I've worked with in the past, I realized that I could trust in her integrity, knowledge and ability to get the job done right. Honesty, integrity, and exceptional knowledge and skills are surprisingly difficult to find when looking for an attorney. My family and I hit the proverbial jackpot with Ms. Christian. As a side note - a few years before my parents' passing, there was a divorce in the family. The non-family member tried very hard and spent quite a lot of money with their own talented team of attorneys - trying to break the family trust to access assets that weren't theirs. The trust was written so well and so thoroughly by Ms. Christian that the judge wouldn't even agree to a hearing on the matter despite multiple requests and compelling arguments by the opposing counsel. Ms. Christian has also handled a number of corporate legal issues for our companies over the years. In all cases, her expertise provided exactly the advice needed to protect the company and resolve conflicts. My family and I will be forever grateful for her work.

Chris did such a great job for me! I had a series of flooding happen in my condo that I was renting. It was a very stressful and rough situation between the landlord and myself and long with my insurance company. He was SO helpful, got resolution for me, in my favor and protected my rights. He was not only very knowledgeable at great at his job, he was attentive and never once made me feel like I was inferior or undeserving of being walked over. I would use and recommend Chris ANY DAY!!! He was absolutely fantastic. If you need him, you can be assured he will take care of you and be in good ethics while doing so. A top notch human being!!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Alpharetta, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
